Comcast uses these to replace the motorola's people have problems with. I switched from it to the zoom at best buy to save some money but the cisco worked 100x better than the motorola.

I bought this last time and notice my signal drops and has issues much more then with my surfboard. Seems like while they fixed it it is still very much capable of dropping your connection randomly...

At $50 refurbed, this is still a great deal. I would jump all over this, but I bought my Arris CM820a modem for Comcast last year for around $60 and it just paid for itself this month :D
