.22 birdshot is absolutely useless for anything except shooting birds or small snakes at very close range. Maybe mice too. For target practice (which is what 99% of .22 is used for) it's worthless....

use it in the ruger 10/22 all the time- NOT at "very close" range. it is not worthless, it has its place. it is not for plinking or target shooting, and anyone that tries it for such needs help.

Cheap plinking 22lr use to be .03 cents around. in today's times you should be able to get it for .07 cents a round. I personally would not buy this for plinking.
