I have an Obi 110 Voice Service Bridge (Google Voice). I want it to live in a room that does not have wired Ethernet cabling. I don't want to buy the Obi wireless access point unless deemed necessary...

this would be your better way to use the obi110 wireless. also it you get a stutter dial tone and new messag eon the phone but there are not any new messages that means there is a firmware update.

Should work, but remember that your computer will need to be on for the connected device to use the internet connection. Probably a regular cable, but if you know what a crossover cable is I'm sure...
