Mine came with the rest of my desktop components in a huge box (bubble-wrapped with the RAM). Looks fine and all the components were snug in the box.

FYI I have ordered single drive on several occasions. Each time, the drive had plastic caps on each end of the drive. This fit snugly into the cardboard box. Which was then packed into a shipping box.

Amen! That is why I said this. I totally agree. We still have another year or two before SSDs and Cloud storage can push the prices to something anywhere near reasonable.

Historically, the Thanksgiving holiday is a terrible time for retail sales. Everyone is home eating turducken.

As I've said in the past, I've recently many shipments (at least 8) of HDD from Newegg in the past few months. All were properly packaged.

Bubble wrap AND peanuts are not enough?? What do people want them packed in? I just got two asus dvd drives packed that way and i thought that they were pretty secure.

I only have like 70GB left on my computer and I really ought to get a 3TB HDD, but I just needed an excuse to pass on this for some reason. This is that excuse. Thanks. I'll continue waiting.

This is the cheapest I've seen a bare 3tb drive for (other times have been external drives that you have to strip).

Toshiba (e.g. Hitachi!) HDD's don't have the best track record. Good deal in the GB-per-$$ ratio....but bad deal given these drives' so-so track record. Buy at your own risk....fyi.

I bought one when they were on sale for $125~ Pretty decent drive, no complains so far. They are essentially re-branded Hitachi 7200RPM drives.
