FYI -- just a tip for any Solar lights -- put some car wax on the glass/element and it helps prevent sun damage on the unit - also if the top of your solar unit gets faded, use a little polishing...

technically, if you had 4 by 4s along your fence they would go on top of those too but how far down the light may actually come is the question
