I noticed this at my local Best Buy also, I think a new model will be out next.
I would love to have the 70" Elite, if it gets around $4,500 I may be getting one.
Not sure about the thumbs down,...

Those are open box items, probably shelf displays or at the very least missing the box... most BBs don't keep boxes for the larger TVs

OP is wrong, these have been on sale for a few months now. $5k is not too hard to find for the 70", and can be had with a little bit of negotiating... think about it, this is a tough item to sell and...

there will be no more Sharp Elites...the generation at BB( Magnolia HT) is the first and last of its kind
according to some posting I have seen ...there are buyers that are getting open item 70"s...
