I think it's a misprint. The telescoping version has a higher price, and I don't think it comes on sale often.

Picked mine up earlier and it does not have telescoping handles. In fact my handles are red and black unlike the picture. I don't mind -- it looks great and works well too. Mine says Made in Taiwan....
