Probably, but it would be massively huge in comparison. If you want a waterproof camera I would go Sony TX20. $200. It was $125 a month ago though.

I was looking into waterproof cameras too. I'm sure it's not typical, but all of them seem to have quite a few reviews about problems leaking. I'm very worried about getting stuck with a $200+...

It's shocking how the two giant names in photography equipments, Canon&Nikon, are falling behind others when it comes to their mirrorless offerings. I'm glad I went with Sony and got an NEX6 and the...

Actually, the RX100 is a fair comparison to the J1 since they both have 1" sensors. The RX100 has been attainable sub $400. At MSRP, the J1 and the RX100 were price competitive. The fact that J1...

I need a waterproof camera (already have D600 for my main camera). Do you think J1 + waterproof case provide better image comparing to Nikon AW110 or the new Panasonic TS5?

Not anymore. There are a ton of great cameras for $200. If having a large sensor is all you want, check out the price of used GF2s in mint condition. They have sold for half this and have a larger...

Thanks for the info. Anyone have any feedback on them as a retailer? Looks like they stand behind what they sell anyway.

I tried to get past auto...but as a regular non cameraphile or picture quality freak guy, i found it a waste of time.

I got this camera around xmas. I love it but I'm still figuring out what all it can do. If you're looking for video only, it can only do 20 minute videos and it will get warm if you use it that way...

external mic isn't that important. Its relatively easy to synch audio recorded from other sources like a recorder.

I think it's a large sensor camera for $200. You could do so much worse. For that matter, finding a decent compact at $200 is difficult.

Great deal for someone who wants better image quality and performance than a point and shoot, but isn't quite ready to go past auto mode. Also in Silver http://www.adorama.com/INK1J1WKR.html
Post #58194328 added 03-13-2013 10:54 AM by travfar in Archived Deals
I agree. I wanted to hate the J1 but it's not a bad little camera at this price. 1 feature alone makes it worth it at this price. The 400fps movie mode at 640x240.
