Any time you add channels, you increase the load. A 5 channel amp is still only rated into 2 channels. Three channels is 33% more taxing on an amp than 2 channels. I'm surprised you don't know...

Check your local Craigslist for receiver deals. I scored an older Marantz with a subwoofer for $50. Paired up with these speakers makes for a kick ass home theater on the cheap.

You'd need a receiver. And I assume you'd want at least a center channel and/or surround speakers to give more of a surround feel. What exactly you're trying to accomplish and how well you want...
