MSI deal for OC'ed 90 bucks was better if youdon't like Far Cry 3. i couldn't care less if i didnt play it, ever. and if ur not dying to play FC 3 it will eventually be 5 bucks on steam
it'll run far cry 3, but probably not high settings at 1080p, if i remember the benchmarks correctly, you'll avg around 30 FPS, and you'll have a min of around 20 FPS. everyone has different...

The lack of the 560 ti 448 and the 7870 xt in the chart kinda sucks but not bad otherwise.

I live in a hot part of the world so I need a card that will very little heat. I rarely game but want it for those rare moments when I do game. Is this the card for me?

According to the Hierarchy chart at Toms, the 560ti is one level above the 7770, on level with the 5870.

i have the non cross-fire version of this card from cyber monday.. got it for $65AR, and i've barely even used it so far... but i will be picking borderlands 2 soon.
Wow, thank you for this enlightening information! For a 305 Watt system with an AMD X2 5000+ (dual core 2.6 ghz processor), for which the power supply cannot be upgraded, what video card would you...

This is true for a general outlook but more SPs isn't a linear indication of performance.

i don't know about those cards. a 6 pin cable comes from the psu and is labelled PCI-E like this http://lagwar.com/home/wp-content/uploads/trio659.jpg

You're right. That was a wrong statement. It's only 10% less. Thanks for correcting me.
Since you probably are generally knowledgeable in the area of CPU bottlenecks, could you please let me know, if in your opinion, each of the following cards, would be bottle-necked by an AMD X2 5000+...
1. So, to be clear, I look for wires coming out of the power supply and search for those that have a 6 pin connector, correct? 2. If the 650 ti is a low power card then hypothetically wouldn't it...

Wow, do you run your i7 at 5.3GHz 24/7?
Post #58356120 added 03-20-2013 5:16 PM by justainchoe in Archived Deals
No, it does require a 6-pin connector. I wrote that reply prior to knowing you needed a card without one. If you look at the cables that come out of your power supply, look for one that has the 6...

hd7770 is only 25 more watts than the HD7750 but its definitely faster. It's worth getting a $2 adapter off ebay if you are playing games on the computer.

According to this the GTX650 ti is 110 watts so it definitely has a six pin connector. The GTX650 which is 64 watts but still has a six pin connector....

looks like about $20 after fees if you sell Far Cry 3 on Fleabay
does the gtx 650 require a 6 pin power connector or will it run on just the PCIE slot connection power?
Thanks for your response: 1) The 7770 uses a 6 pin slot so I am only looking at the 7750 and 6670 that don't use a 6 pin power slot. 2) How did you overclock your CPU from 2.6 ghz to 3.1...

Oh.. ic. I recommend the 650 Ti which also requires a 6-pin pcie power connector. I think the lowest price of the 7750 was $65 after rebate, so I would expect the 6670 to be around $40ish after...
Can you confirm that the 650ti doesn't require a separate 6 pin power connector? The 650ti may draw lower power but the issue is whether is or not it requires a separate 6 pin connector. Thanks!!
Thanks for you response. One more question. Where does one find the 6 pin power slot in the computer. Do you just plug the 650 TI into a PCIE slot, then search for "any" available 6 pin connector...

6 pin power cable comes with the power supply. you connect it directly to the video card.

I think I read that Tom's article. Is that the one where they seperate it into tiers? The GTX 460 is around 20% faster than the 7770. The Tom's hardware article you're reading probably broke the...

Hi, sorry, I don't have that Dell. I bought the CPU/mobo/ram for $50 on craigslist a while back. I would never buy a Dell (sorry, I think Dell sucks). Anyways, That 2nd image link doesn't work,...

Would of liked to have Fry Cry...BUT.....that $75 in-game coupon seems to go for $15-$20 on E-Bay.....so that helps.

Well, I was convinced to go with a 650ti over the 7770 I was waiting for the price to drop under $100 $101.00 is close enough for me !

1) Yes. 2) I don't know. That's a good point. PCIe 2.0 slots can push out 75w I think. It might be more efficient to draw power directly from the 6-pin rather than from the motherboard. Not...
What is the "adapter" you are referring to? Is it the same as the "molex-to-pcie connector cable" that another person stated on this thread?

Might want to read what I said again. And I didn't make Tom have the 192 bit 460 one level lower on his chart and the 256 bit equal to the HD7770. I never said the HD7770 was a beast, I said the HD...

NVidia does offer a lot of low power video cards now. In the past, Radeon was leading in that department, but with the new Kepler GPUs, they are all very power efficient. I think that was one of...

The picture is helpful! Thanks. I had no idea that the 6 pin connector is also marked with "PCIE."

Yea, but you can SLI. :D edit: ok, I looked at the benchmarks again, and I guess the best is 3 Titans, but it's only about 73% better than a single Titan. Ok, GTX 690 is better. It's so...

lol I can SLI two GTX 690 and it'll be faster. I'll just lose out when it comes to tri or quad SLI titians.
Thank you for your clear replies. Your responses are also educational. When you have the spare time, you should consider writing a short two page paper on what to look for and recommendations for...

GTX650 is one level down slightly less performance but only 60 something watts. GTX650 ti is more performance, one level up but uses more power. It's a great card and as low as $110 last week but...
