You should totally be able to transfer saves as long as both games are from the same region. That's actually what I'm planning on doing because I'm tired of getting these hand cramps while playing....

Yes, local only :( There are workarounds with Kai, but not worth my effort. Never looked into utilizing the PS3 in ad-hoc mode, but doubt it.
Multiplayer is fun, but the lack of internet play...

Plenty of rumors about a monster hunter being prepped for a Vita release. With the Vita sales doing so well after the recent price drop, I wouldn't doubt that more decent games are to follow.

This is a great game. Plays really well on the Vita (as opposed to the PSP) because of the dual control sticks. It's a rather challenging game... not for young kids.
