Please explain why you think the 8320 has a"safe overclock" limit lower than that of the 8350 ...

The ram is mentioned when you click on the ta970 board. It should show up in cart

It depends on your chip really. The 8320 and 8350 are the same chip. The 8320 are the ones with slight defects in them. AMD set the base clock lower since they can run at that speed without issue. If...

There are no defects on the 8320s https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AvsxWM_f24kDdEQ4eGhrdzV2aU94QVBZV2R6LXdIY3c&output=html Your thinking of 'binning' These aren't chips with...

Unless it is excluded when buying the combo?

http://www.evga.com/forums/tm.aspx?m=662506&mpage=1&print=true Read second post I'm not saying the 8320 is a bad chip in any way. Only that if you want guaranteed performance without errors you...

RAM is no longer bundled with the mobo?
Post #58364974 added 03-21-2013 6:25 AM by utjeff in Archived Deals
DEAL is BACK ON - RAM has been changed to corsair 8gb module. For pure CPU processing power I thought this was a much better deal than the front page AMD A10 yesterday for $201. Granted you...

It's weird how dominant i5 is in some games....but it does really seems software dependent as to who is on top.

Ram is back in stock, but it's a different kind.

RAM no longer included with combo.

Seems fairly decent to me. Only one PCI-e x16 slot so no SLI or Crossfire. No USB 3 header so usb 3.0 ports in your case will be 2.0 speed. Still for the price not a bad board. I'm still...

Dont see any ram being added on?
Post #58367692 added 03-21-2013 8:29 AM by webculb in Archived Deals
The 8320 can be safely overclocked to 4.0GHz. The 8350 can be safely overclocked to 4.5-5.0GHz. So if you aren't a big overclocker the 8320 is a better deal since you save 25 bucks and it can run at...

Yep, deal killer for me. I had a deal alert set up for both an i7 and FX CPU deal and this looks like a solid price but the mobo kills it for me. I guess I could just go with a single higher end...

In some poorly written games like SC2 the i5 is definitely better. In some games that can take advantage of more threads the 8 core AMD is definitely better. Otherwise its a wash.
Post #58369286 added 03-21-2013 9:46 AM by webculb in Archived Deals
Depends on if the software is written to use multiple threads at once or not. If everything is going to just one core then Intel will win everytime vs AMD. Multicore multithreaded applications get...

That as well. The 8320 takes more voltage per clock speed than the 8350 does. Since the 8350 is a higher bin. More voltage means more heat. Still if you don't want the insane 5.0GHz max (in real...

I think there are two USB 3.0 ports running to the back panel as shown on the picture.

What he means is that if you connect the wires that come connected to your computer case, the ones that allows you to use the USB ports in the front, to the motherboard it will only be at 2.0 speeds....
Post #58366118 added 03-21-2013 7:18 AM by webculb in Archived Deals
Yep. Which if you bought a case with usb 3.0 ports in the front specifically for that feature. Then this is not the board you would want.

I don't see any reason why you wouldn't get both. Which makes this a pretty good deal. Alternatively there is an 8320 combo for $25 less. That chip is the same with a lower stock clock and similar...

Isn't this essentially the same price as buying them separate? $20 combo discount, or there's a $20 gift card if you buy the CPU by itself.

Your linking me to a three year old post wherein the individual in question writes "I'm pretty bad at explaining things... lol, but hopefully this helps you understand" The 8320 isn't a "defective...
