Sure lazy bones. go find a refurb with an e8400 in it or above from HP. DEll, Lenovo your choice. All will be below 200 and will run circles around this proc. Jesus do your homework folks. Or...

nothing idiotic about putting 480W in it. heck, even way largely rated PSU would be fine if one wanted.

Not very well. Worse than on a low-end Pentium/Celeron G chip and a Radeon HD 6450. Worse than on an i3 with Intel HD 4000 integrated. Slightly better than on a chip with Intel HD 2000/2500. The...

Could this CPU/GPU run a blu-ray player for HTPC?

I think you should take out the "+radeon hd 7840" in the title because that is part of the APU...in case people think this deal comes with a dedicated video card.

It's not dead, just click to the left to see the system. I'm getting the following message: " The promo code VMEPROMOMAR13 has been closed and is no longer active."

lol, someone has a pained bottom. FM2 is a great upgrade path if you need something now for a perfectly usable 1080P HTPC for example. The 775 architecture is fully dead three generations over. Not...

I'm pretty lazy. Could you spec out the system you are referring to that will run circles around this rig? I guess your system will need a discrete video card to match the performance of this one. ...

Not even for basic computing! Try editing a home video with this POS you will regret it! I know from personal experience. I tried to go all green and lower power. not only did I save only pennies...

I am with robintrade on this one. If all you care about is processing speed, then yes, a celeron may be a better pick. Those cheap celerons are a great value, but they couldn't touch this thing in...

no, PSUs are most efficient at converting AC -> DC when they're running around 40-60% load. Here, you'd be running at 20% or less.

Dude, you are a disrespectful troll. I built an HTPC for under $300 with this A4, an MSI mini-ITX D3 Hudson motherboard, a kingston V300 SSD and a stick of 8gb corsair ram. This little bugger is...

I have no use, but this would make a pretty fun htpc. I'd imagine with the base specs you could probably emulate up to ps2. /e O/S = operating system :)
