Ryzen 1700x and 1800x confirmed $100 off mobo/cpu combo instead of $50

http://www.microcenter.com/produc..._Processor

**Was able to get 1700 instead, spoke to an associate and they were able to honor 1700 with $100 off combo deal** Discount comes off the motherboard YMMV**

1700 was only $50 instead

Check with local MC for discount and availability

Not showing for new R5 1600 or 1600x unfortunately

My MC had tons of Intel lying around, even with the mighty i7 7700k discounted to $299. The AMD shelf right next to it was empty except for 1 R5 1400 left. A deal =/= poor sales
So basically you are saying ryzen is not worthwhile becasie cuting 40% of time does not matter for video projects, and as such people should use the slower i7...

This is an amazing logic
Holy poop. If you didn't have this, you might have sounded a bit reasonable. In no universe can you argue that a time saving of 30-40% in not worth it. What about small jobs? What if I have to render or compile a hypothetical project of 6 minutes on the Ryze and 10 minutes on the Intel? What if I need to do this 30 times in a day? 180 minutes vs 300 minutes? That is a no brainer while working.

You sound completely irrational. If you do intensively CPU based tasks that benefit from multithreading, you are insane to opt for a slower CPU. It shows that you have ZERO real world experience.

Your example may cover a small fraction of processing jobs, but more realistic ones require babysitting and the faster they finish, the better. What about deadlines? What about EVERYTHING ELSE where time is REALLY VALUABLE?

Wow, sorry, I just needed to make sure you understood how insane you sound.

good for the people looking for ATX. can't find mATX board though.

1700 comes with cooler which is pretty decent and that X factor doesn't seems to be working well out here.

When is the version with APU coming out and do you think it will be as good as Intel's Iris IGU?

$299 is not the discount. its probably the real price which people should have paid since genesis of 7700k.

Yup, agreed. $299 and I still would've had to spend the extra $ for the delid tool and thermal compound. That's Intel for you.

That deal expired, it dropped to $50 off combo, and now it's back at $100. Inventory has also shifted with the release of Ryzen 5 during that period.
