Amazon.com has the Samsung MB-ME128GA/AM 128GB MicroSDXC EVO Select Memory Card with Adapter, Class 10 UHS-3 on sale for $44.99 right now. It says 1-2 months for delivery but I think this is a brand new released product so hopefully they will ship sooner. At this price I thought it was a good deal, especially since its UHS-3.

Here are some specs for the card from the page:

Up to 100MB/s & 90MB/s read & write speeds respectively; Class 10 UHS-3
High-performance for 4K UHD video recording, high resolution pictures, mobile gaming and music, for use in Smartphones, Drones, Android Tablets, Tablet PCs, Action Cameras, DSLRs and more
Full-Size adapter included
10-year limited warranty

*I know there was a recent post about a Sandisk Class 10 128GB card for around $35 however, that is a slower Class 10 card for 1080p vs this one is Class 10 UHS-3 supporting 4k*

So much confusion and misinformation - here's the deal!

There are TWO numbers on an SD card.

One number is the BUS SPEED. This is the type and speed of the interface to the device. It is shown as a number of "I" values from UHS-I to UHS-III. Look here: https://www.sdcard.org/developers...index.html.

The second number is the SPEED CLASS. This is the speed of the card itself.
The value is shown in a circle for older, slower values and inside a U for newer, faster values.
https://www.sdcard.org/consumers/...ass_01.jpg

The card in this deal is a UHS-I, U3 card. You can see the I to the left of the U and the 3 inside the U.

The UHS Speed Classes defined by the SD Association are UHS Speed Class 1 (U1) and UHS Speed Class 3 (U3). U1 and U3 can be applied to UHS Bus IF product family (UHS-I, UHS-II & UHS-III).

Again, this card is NOT a UHS-3. There is no such thing. That would be UHS-III, which is very expensive and no devices we have would support it. It is a UHS-I, U3.

It was different card though. This is UHS 3 class for 4k and faster write speed. I would say this one is comparable to the evo pro from bestbuy deal earlier, but this is a newer version.
Not the same card. This is the newer U3 rated variant, the previous deal was for U1 (minimum 10 MB/s).

I saw the "3 for $44.99" in the title and got excited! Grammar and punctuation matter...

This is 100/90 the one Samsung is sending with the S8 promo is 90/80, the both should be able to do 4K video fine. I am waiting on the 256GB for $100 or less.

Does the Galaxy S7 support UHS-3? Or am I better off getting a UHS-1 card for cheaper?
