Just finished today's leg of the tour. Exciting finish. Had a sick kitty on my lap so no PWing during the race. She's going to an internist tomorrow as our vet said her treatment is beyond her abilities/knowledge at this point. Sadwalk

Bye Night AMT.

Bump last night in San Angelo. not much going on here, so we were done way early, and I spent much of the afternoon in my room checking email and making phone calls Whee

we had lunch at Zentner's Daughter, and dinner at Western Skies. both were good, but not great. I probably should have stuck to more traditional steakhouse food, for lunch I had a taco salad and at dinner I had the cafe ribeye - covered in Spanish sauce, with gauce, cheese, lettuce, and tortillas on the side Whee

Yeah, it's best to stick to the Chicken Fried Steak or a nice t-bone or if your budget allows, some tenders. They don't do fancy very well in West Texas, but what they do know, they do really well.

Night AMT. Bye

I continued ignoring the need to eat normally today. We stopped at Cooper's in Llano on the way back, I got beef brisket, potato salad and cole slaw yummy it was pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of the heated, runny bbq sauce, and some of the brisket was quite fatty, but overall it was quite good, and the slaw and the potato salad were good as well.

I'm technically now 30 years old EEK! not sure how that happened. Huh

headed to bed soonish

woot Happy birthday ML! Whee

If you get a chance to stop for lunch in Mason some day, try the Coopers there. It's the original and is owned by a different person than the one in Llano. Same style of BBQ but they do it better and they have cabrito is you get there early enough, as the cabrito sells out fast. Their potato salad is better too. yummy

we went through Mason on the way west, but it was early having left Austin around 7:45. we had lunch that first day at a random steakhouse in Sonora, and made it as far west as Ozona before heading back north and east to San Angelo.

I haven't been in Sonora or Ozona in probably 20 years. My best friend lived in Sonora for a while, so I was there quite often until she moved back to San Angelo.

Do you have any plans for your birthday?

I went and watched the world cup game with people from work, didn't do much else today, got some food and watched TDF coverage and such. trying to decide if I'll try to take the bus to work / walk home tomorrow, i've been a total slacker lately and not been doing it Doh

Probably not the most comfortable way to get to work with the heat there. I'm beginning to wonder if we'll ever have a summer. It's been unusually cold and rainy for this time of year, thanks to El Nino. Not that it really matters, as we can't go anywhere overnight with the cat sick and needing meds daily.

Bye It's that time. Night ML.
