EEK! just spent the last three hours moving my desktop into a new case, new power supply, and replacing the hard drive that is failing Whee the new power supply is the correct specification, but I do miss my old modular set up, far fewer things to stuff into a case, don't have to install the cables you don't need when it's modular. ah well, it's really only two cables that are truly extra, that's not too bad.

tomorrow, I get to see if i can make it run... need to set up RAID again, then see if I can recover w/ windows backup Ohmy I have no idea how that process will go, I don't even want to think about it at this point shake head

Bump been an interesting, and very hot, day.

didn't wake up early enough to watch red bull tape their commercial, although a bunch of people did go.

I got to the texas state history museum around noon, it was already above 95, and spent ~45 minutes taking pictures among the masses. just about dead by the time i was done. then I had lunch at Texas Chili Parlor, got groceries, and went to work on rebuilding my compter.

Oddly enough, windows backup worked like a charm, I was positively shocked EEK! no major headaches, just took about three hours to restore everything, plus some time to copy things back from between the last backup and now Whee

We had our hottest day so far this year, it got up to 86 and I felt like I was melting. Had a good day. Ate Dim Sum around 11:30 then did some shopping to pick up a few things we needed. We were going to take a walk on the river trail in Redmond before going home but by then, I was feeling a bit sick from the heat so we skipped it.

Tomorrow DH is doing a beer can chicken on the grill, or as I like to call it, beer butt chicken. laugh out loud

super shuttle is supposed to pick me up between 9:18 and 9:33 tomorrow Sheep 11:30 flight to Dulles, then four awful nights in a conference center complex i've never heard anything good about Hide

Hilton's website is down and I still don't have a hotel booked for Friday night Doh I could call, but I think I'll just wait until tomorrow, I can always call Monday night, and I doubt I'll ever have to pay more than the government rate

I'm beat, lots of housework today and the heat is still bad. Keep in mind, we don't have AC here so 86 outside is around 90 inside. Thankfully it's still dropping down into the upper 50's at night, which makes sleeping nice.

Forgot to send the link to DH for the Red Bull photos. I'll do that tomorrow.

I should have cleaned up more around the condo, but with packing for DC and trying to make sure I have all my plans straight, I didn't have a ton of time today to get things done.

hello AMT wave

so far, we've missed the hotel shuttle, been told there weren't any seats on the next one and to take a cab (which, per person, was cheaper than the shuttle rate), we've gotten lost in this darn complex two or three times, the Wii lounge featured a non-functioning Wii, and the rooms are like tiny little prison cells. on the positive side, the food wasn't bad, although it wasn't really good, either Doh

it's going to be a long couple of days. I'm always happy to see my counterparts in the agency, but the location is just awful.
