I don't think you need to be concerned if you use the product diluted in water, tea whatever. OTOH, brushing your teeth with it on a regular basis is probably not a good idea.

They may cake up in the packet after a while, say, maybe a year. I never noticed any difference in quality though. I usually dump a couple of packets into a 1 liter bottle of seltzer.

Big fan of true lime or lemon in water. I find the lime to have more flavor than the lemon, seems like I need to use 2x lemon for the same amount of flavor as 1 lime. Thanks OP, was almost out of lime so good timing.
