I have a few Extech multimeters back from clearance days at RadioShack several years ago. They all held up fine. I also have Flukes and understand the difference in quality, but these extechs still work very well. I would recommend.
MN25 Multimeter by itself for only $9.99 + tax.

I believe it's very close if not the same as the Craftsman 8 Function Digital Multimeter.

If you don't need the other testers, you can get the Craftsman for $13. It was $9 when it was on sale.

not the lowest ever technically but it's basically normally 30 dollars and realistically the lowest it's been in years

i agree completely, unless you need 6000 count or whatever, this is much better (and 1/10th the cost). I also think that people that have low experience are better served without auto-ranging.

I have this same kit and use it professionaly. I'm quite pleased with it. This is a good buy on a fairly high quality durable product.

Does this check if an outlet is GFCI protected?

Don't think it's a GFCI tester, just tests wiring of outlet.

Negative, the outlet tester would have the GFCI test button if it was. This one just tests for correct wiring and the likes.

just jam a wire in the big slotted hole and the round ground hole. if it's protected it will pop.
