Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Sprint service is too expensive even if it's free. For me, the headache of dropped calls and bad customer service isn't worth it.

used an unlocked boost iphone 6, tested a FreedomPop number, passed credit check, paid the $13 something for the SIM...
let's see if I can truly port this FP number in for free service

btw, i'm hoping to double dip a portal cashback, and AA 20000 miles offer...
Please explain

you guess is wrong... my iphone 6 is from boost mobile, never used, and activated on R+, and Ting later, until unlocked recently and used on T-mo. Now available for use.
it passed the check and i just submitted the order

sprint's system must have something to do with phone eligibility...
Quote from oilvbyrne :
My iPhone was on R+ for a couple months and not eligible.
My guess is if the phone was ever on R+/Ting, it would not be eligible.

Says I'm eligible yet I have VZW prepaid. Is this contract only? Wiki says postpaid.

I called Sprint, and they said that I could get the sim via store and that buying it on the website with overnight shipping wasn't necessary?

idk, gonna go to a store to do the identity verification thing.

Trying to justify this

Planned on going to 20/month cricket once my ST plan expires. Not sure if a free year of sprint outweighs $240/year

I doubt it.
Why credit check?!
Annual contract?
There must be a trick to keep people in after a year. Their marketing still sux.

Just had a long chat and BYO SIM card is not eligible for this promo. Apparently they special SIM's for this promo. I was under the impression that all Sprint SIM's dependent on the phone manufacturer.
Example MOTO G4 SIM will not work in Samsung or LG Sprint Phone as most of who were with RP know.

Even though my MOTO G4 and ATT number is eligible - I have to purchase a new SIM if I want in on this promo.
I just called and talked to a great rep who let me port my T-Mobile postpaid iPhone 6S using a Sprint SIM I had already. So YMMV with calling in and bringing your own SIM.

Says my phone is eligible... but what if I switch to a different unlocked phone a few months later?

It SHOULD work if I just pop in the SIM right? I mean... not like there's anyway to lock the SIM to the phone?

Was your Sprint SIM ever activated previously?

Has anyone found a way to get a new number with Sprint instead of just porting over your old number?

Not slick at all. MetroPCS has had $60/per month unlimited for a long time (including tax/unlike Sprint which is $60 + taxes). Plus, Metro has faster data speeds. I had Sprint Sero (unlimited) for years. Sprint began throttling me to non-useable speeds once I hit 20GB mark. Skipping this non-deal.

Sticking with MintSMS for $27/month 10GB LTE/Unlimted data/voice (and alot faster data speeds than Sprint)

Quote from Lawlerskates :
Service at Disneyland was okay but I've had better with T-Mobile. It was dicey depending on the ride. Got no signal in the hotel next to the window. I called them about their service, spent a hour with tech support and told by the rep that Sprint doesn't work well in the buildings. Well no duh! I have Sprint for the cost but I would have to say their service area is very spotty. For free it's a good deal but if you pay more than 50 for two lines you are getting ripped off.
You'll get this constantly with Sprint. Random service outages and issues making/receiving calls. If you call tech support they'll twindle their thumbs and tell you there is no problem when clearly there is one. They'll bounce you around to various tech support reps until eventually the problem resolves itself or you get pissed off and hang up.

If you need cell phone service for something important like a business or you use the phone frequently, I would avoid this deal. But if you want a phone for you kid or something, it's perfect. If you're paying $60 for a line with Sprint you're getting ripped off, there's no way that their service deserves that much. LTE coverage is a joke.

I'll bite. I was using Sprint on my Republic Wireless phone for years without too much issue. The only thing I think I'll miss is the WiFi calling.
