Just placed an order with a replacement iPhone 6 Plus from Apple Store and a MintSIM. Interestingly, I tried to check eligibility twice before I decided to switch. Both time it passed. Then after an hour when I finally made up my mind, the system told me I was not eligible. I refreshed the page and tried again, this time it passed. Credit check was very fast. I blew through the process. Now I'm just waiting for the SIM card to arrive.

Btw, does anyone know if MintSIM will cancel the ported-out line? I still have 2 and half months of service left on the account.

I am with Tello (sprint mvno), so I sign up for AT&T prepaid for the 25¢ per minute plan with 0.99 sim card, port over to ATT first and the will try to port it to sprint. The sim card is 0.99 + tax Total for me is $1.07. If you dont use any min at ATT it should cost you nothing.

Is your service with Mint SIM still currently active? Or does the port-in process to Sprint start as soon as you place the order for the Sprint SIM card?

You will lost the Mint account once your number is ported out, unless you add a line

Does the port-in process to Sprint begin as soon as you order the SIM card? Or does it begin once you receive the SIM card and begin the activation process?

It would make more sense after you receive the sim otherwise you can be without service while sim is in transit.

they need your SIM ICCID number to start actiavtion and you need SIM card to provide that info , so activation starts only after receiving SIM card.

I can say with almost certainty you have to initiate the port- in after receiving the Sim, otherwise you'd be with no phone service for transit time, I'm surprised there's not a "port in must my completed within x amount of days, to be eligible".

oh I never thought of that, had a horrible experience with Sprint back in 2007 or so, they were losing millions of customers, they were truly horrible.

I'm with Tello too lol but I don't want to port my tello #. Can I just sign up for AT&T prepaid and port the number they assign me to Sprint?

Only fear is who knows how long this incredible deal with last. Will there be enough time to go through the rigmarole of AT&T sign up before they pull this?
