Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

At what stage of the process were you? Were you trying to order SIMs, or did you already receive them and were trying to port over your lines?

Thanks.
I tried to activate the sim online but to no avail. So I had to call to Port in 1 line. Cutting my losses on the sim here.

I'm on Project Fi too. Sprint will not accept my 6P for the promo. Were you able to port to T-Mo and then to Sprint?
I just did a port out to Google Voice (via cancelling Fi) and will attempt to port straight from there to Sprint, once the number is back on Google Voice. There have been at least 2 people who seemed to have good luck porting straight from Google Voice -- instructions are in the Quick Summary of this thread.

I believe I will also have to have my Pixel XL's IMEI placed back to SPCS from PLBL as others have said. I had used my phone with RingPlus previously, so if the eligibility checker still does not show the phone as eligible after the port to Google Voice, I'll message the Ting representative again on Reddit to get that taken care of. He's posted here as well (username LiterallyUnlimited, I believe)

Once the checker shows up I'm good for my IMEI/number I will call up telesales to get it activated with the SIMs they mailed that I just received today.

Alternatively, I'm also thinking about just leaving my main number on Google Voice and just using an AT&T SIM to sign up for pre-paid and then porting that number to Sprint. I'd then have Google Voice forward the calls to the AT&T number that was ported to Sprint.

The down side is that I'd have to use Google Voice for outgoing calls so as to not confuse people who call me. From what I can tell, the way this works via the Google Voice app is that your phone dials an access number to place the outbound calls via GV. I believe if no cell service, then it will use WiFi, akin to what this article mentions is coming soon to GV android app: https://9to5google.com/2017/01/26...on-update/. If this is the case, this is very acceptable.

The plus side is that I can txt using Google Voice using Hangouts from any device, which is appealing as I got used to doing that with Fi

Just ported in a 2nd number over the phone, and the rep read out, and I agreed to the terms that were clearly for the free BYOD plan. Checked my account, and they put the 2nd number on the $65 plan. Pissed.
Looks like some one wants their sales commission

Finally got my statement. My first bill is $2.53. They charged state tax on the admin fee plus other fee ($2.39) not the pre bill adjustment.
So for you, $2.53 is what you think it'll be every month? Like there are no other monthly fees to account for in the future?

My upgrade eligibility date on my Bring Your Device account shows 06/01/2019 instead of 10/1/2017. What does it show on yours?
Opened an account yesterday and "my profile" says I am eligible to upgrade right now, I'm using a Google Pixel. But who would want to upgrade to a Sprint phone from a Google Pixel?.... :-)

haha I know.

They are giving me a hard time in chat. I am requesting that they check the call recordings as I only agreed to the BYOD free 1-year plan. This is ridiculous.

Edit: They had me call telesales back, and they are switching the plan to the correct one.

Idk what to think. Maybe it could be more next statement. The only thing that doesn't match up is they charged tax on $2 instead of $60 like others have said.

I am on a three lines family plan with T-Mobile. All three phones are paid off. I am trying to switch over to the BYOD year free with sprint and only one of the phones is eligible.

Phone 1: IPhone 6s+ - Eligible
Phone 2: IPhone 6 - Not Eligible
Phone 3: IPhone 6 - Not Eligible

Anyone run into the same issue, has resolved this, and could provide some advice?

Thanks!

I am with Tello (another Sprint MVNO), this is what I did
1. Order a ATT gophone sim online from att for $1.7, signup for the 0.25 plan,
(3 days to receive sim)
2. port the tello number to ATT, make sure number is ported and activate on ATT
3. Refill account with $10 (min refill amount is $10)
4. Call ATT and get the account number

Then you are ready.

Note 1. Tello took a while to release the phone my number from their system, so there might be delay

The total cost is 12 + tax.
Thank you for the helpful steps, rep'ed. From what I gathered so far, it seems like I MUST port out from Ting first and there is no other way around.

I'd like to try the ATT that you did. As my Ting billing cycle will be closing very soon, I'd like to port out ASAP. Could you please help with some questions?
  • In your step (1) above, is it possible to get the sim and signup at Walmart (or AT&T store) in person (so I don't have to wait for 3 days)? If so, which one is better - Walmart or AT&T?
  • Also, is the AT&T $.25 or $2/day better in order to make sure that I can complete this for the deal?
  • I assume that your step (3) for $10 refill is necessary - is that correct?
  • When you signed up for sprint 1-year free plan, were you able to use your own sim card?

Here's my bill breakdown if anyone is interested http://imgur.com/a/08Sjz

It's good to know that the activation fee isn't on there (waived instantly?). I think next month will probably be more.
