You are correct on this, I had 2 phones I needed to add to the database.. One older (sprint original) LG g2 that had been used 3rd party MVNO and one Boost ZTE phone also used on Ting, ringplus and freedompop. I sent the IMEI's to LITERALLYUnlimited on Reddit so he could flip them into Sprint's system, and this is what he responded...
9900XXXXXXXXX
This is a Boost phone and isn't eligible to be switched to the Sprint side of things.
9900XXXXXXXXX
I was able to get this device flipped over for you and it should be good to go in juts a few minutes.
It isn't them screwing up but a way to expedite the process of you switching.
When I first called to activate she mentioned that she wasn't able to do it. Then she talked to someone and it was done.
I also gather that the problem was that I was already signed up trying online and failed because of needing to confirm identity then signed up again with the telesales guy.
We're sorry, we're unable to confirm your credit online.
Please call the number above for assistance.
Excellent credit. Why?
If I get us both new unlocked phones from say amazon, do I need to activate them on verizon first before I can switch them over, or do I just need the imei and current phone number?
Also, do I have to order the sim cards with the online link, or will the dipsticks in the sprint store sell me sims? (not sure if its worth even trying with the clowns at my closes store)

For the above, or if you ever had this phone on a Sprint MVNO, you will have to have the phone's IMEI changed from the PLBL database to SPCS. PM LiterallyUnlimited on reddit and he should be able to help out. Otherwise the Moto Play versions will work just fine.
i tried pm LiterallyUnlimited but he never answered. anyone else I can contact?
Its pretty bad, when their customer service is so bad trying to do this over the phone. I've almost given up trying to get a deal done. (for a free year of cell lol)
was on the phone with them for 1hr plus just trying to get them to process...then they said thy couldn't fully do it and needed to send me a SIM card first....charge my card but never even send me the SIM...as I never received it after several days.
Call them back up...then am told it never processed and they need additional info and put me on hold for 20 mins plus.
No wonder they are giving accounts away it will probably take four days to cancel the account...LOL...as they say you get what you pay for.
Porting Issues, call:
888-876-8381
account name needs to match what Sprint has for previous carrier, otherwise, porting will fail.

I ordered an att sim card on the att website on 6/20 early morning and just got tracking info saying the delivery date is 6/26 end of day. The time is running out so I'm considering another route now, and saw some people seem to say that T-mobile option is better.
What exactly is the T-mobile $10 option? Can we walk into T-mobile store and get the sim and do the port-in from ting, and complete everything and get all the info I need for the spring 1-year deal (eg. new T-mobile acct #, pin #)? Is this T-mobile thing all for $10 and can be done quickly? Thanks for your help.
I havent done an instore port with Tmobile, just ATT. But, it should be just as simple. From my understanding, TMobile has a 3.00 per month plan which gives you 30 minutes. That is enough to get activated and port out. But, you may only be allowed to put a minimum of 10.00 on the account. If they let you do it for 3.00, go for it.
