Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Hello,

In any case, you should always unlock before giving out porting info.

Credit check and account set up should be in one call to Sprint. (Or you mean you want to unlock while in the middle of a conversation with telesales ?!)

Incorrect porting info usually can be detected in a minute after information is filled by representative. If GV# is not unlocked, it will be rejected in mins.
Thanks, just wanted to confirm as I had spoken to a previous Sprint rep and asked if I should unlock first, but they said to wait. I just unlocked it now.

For those in NYC - good luck trying to get a SIM card from a Sprint store - I went to 2 and they both refused to sell the SIM, saying that they had nothing to do with the online promotion so could not sell me a SIM card, even though telesales claimed the stores would sell me a SIM card without activating service in store. Your best bet is to just get them to send you the SIM (FedEx overnight), or try Best Buy - but Best Buy might not have the particular SIM for your phone. The Best Buy I went to didn't have the right Sprint SIM for my phone, so I had to order it through telesales.

Quick Question for those who ported successfully from Google Voice - I'll be receiving the SIM card tonight, and the rep is supposed to call me back to finish the process later, including the credit check. Did you unlock your Google Voice number before this point? Or did you wait until the credit check was completed? I tried searching all the Google related comments in this thread but couldn't find an exact answer about WHEN to unlock your number. Thanks in advance!!!
You can unlock it now. It's just to keep it from getting ported when you don't want it to. Without your pin someone would have a hard time stealing your number anyway.

Got it, thanks. As long as I give them my account number (same as Google Voice number) and PIN, and the name on the account matches, that should be all that's needed right?

Thanks, I read that you can get it from Apple for iPhones too. Except I needed it for a Samsung phone. The Sprint stores must be tired of having people come to them and not being able to get a cut of the commission.

This is one of the reasons why I hated sprint. They did this with the harmony speaker deal 3 years back... I've been looking for a sim but have no luck getting one.

[QUOTE=kmartind;101466052

I received the "CSIM V1 Activation Kit" (containing the 3-in-1 Universal SIMOLW506C) which is available everywhere and should work on pretty much any Sprint compatible Android phone or iPhone 5s though 7 I believe. I thought they were sending those to everybody by default.[/QUOTE]

That would make more sense/be more what I'd expect to receive. (Rather thought that's what I'd get at the corporate store, but they gave me the same nano-only one, even though I told him 3 times it wouldn't work.) Maybe they're trying to unload old inventory, but I wasn't impressed. 😉

I'm currently active on Tello and I have my Tello account number and PIN so that I can port out.

I tried signing up on the Sprint website but it's coming up as ineligible. I called Sprint customer service and they started a ClickIT Ticket for me. They told me to expect a call back and to give them my port out account number and PIN at that time.

Should I deactivate my Tello number first? I think I will lose my number if I do this right.

Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hello,

There is no way they can port your cell #. Tello cell # is on Sprint network (???)

Yes, if you deactivate your tello line, you lose the number.

Yes. However, there are few people reported that their reps refused to sign up with GV#, they want wireless # from AT&T, Verizon or Tmobile. Most of reps put it through, though.
