Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.
Can I cancel after the first year?
Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

What's the cheapest way to get a qualifying plan to Port in? Long story successfully got two lines in the correct plan .. but my third line got placed into the wrong one ( unlimited freedom/ with auto pay ). And it looks like they can't fix it . Clueless reps .. I figured I just transfer my number out and back in .. anyone in the same boat??

Hi, I have "20$ Boost Mobile - LG Tribute HD 4G LTE with 8GB" - https://slickdeals.net/f/9438399-20-boost-mobile-lg-tribute-hd-4g-lte-with-8gb (Black Friday Promo)

At Ting it says to me - Great news!
Your phone is compatible with Ting.
Bring your LG Tribute HD to Ting and it will support the following services on our CDMA network. .... "
Looks like your phone is currently active. We can move your number ("port") to Ting and activate your phone in our simple activation process. Ready to go?"

I have it active in FreedomPop BYOD right now, you think it might work for this Sprint BYOD switch after you turn off my switch?

Thanks
This is unlikely to work. Per my book earlier:

5. I will not flip the ownership flag for devices that started their lives as Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile or Sprint Prepaid devices. You'll need to meet the unlock policies of these carriers, and they'll provide the tech support you need. This isn't just because it's bypassing a network partner policy (which I would prefer not to do. I like Sprint a lot!), but it puts a lot of things in jeopardy (my job, your Sprint service, my employers network agreements). If you'd like to contact Sprint to see if they'll flip the flag, you're more than welcome. I will not be flipping those flags. Even if you find someone who will flip it, the device could still fail FED and not activate.
5a. These phones are still mostly capable of activating on MVNOs, even if they're not compatible with Sprint. This is where your MVNOs serial number checker comes in really handy.

I have posted this a few times. There are three separate issues here: FED, MVNO flag, and Boost unlocking policy. As long as you clear/pass the first two (FED and MVNO flag), you are fine because you are using it on Sprint network. If you want to use the phone on other carrier/network such as the iPhones, then you have to clear/pass all three (FED, MVNO flag, Boost unlocking policy). The Boost unlocking policy is for domestic SIM unlocking
I believe there to be a fourth issue that we're not aware of. Many people have contacted me with inactive SPCS Boost phones (no idea how they got that way) that are failing Sprint's checker. My best answer is Sprint tech support, at the moment. As we don't have a Sprint Tech Support consultant here, we're somewhat flying blind.

Okay so let me see if I have this right. Right now I have two sprint prepaid Motorola E 2nd gens on Ting's sprint network. What I want to do is purchase two Motorola E4's from Amazon and the correct sims which I believe are for the S8/S8+. Then port my numbers from Ting to this offer and use the Motorola E4's. Is this doable?

If I deactive / remove my phone from CellNUVO, I will probably lose my phone number which is required when enroll in Sprint one year free plan?
Thanks!
If you want to keep your CellNUVO number, swap another device onto the CellNUVO line if it can be done or use another device on the Sprint free plan and switch device later after the CellNUVO number is ported. If you don't want to keep your CellNUVO number, you can get other carrier number for cheap and port in that number. Many people use AT&T Go, T-Mobile prepaid, GV, etc.

I think that is because those inactive SPCS Boost phones do not pass FED. The MVNO flag can be changed even if the phones do not pass FED; probably a loophole that Sprint needs to fix.

The correct Sprint SIM for the Moto E4 is SIMGLW416Q. The universal Sprint SIM SIMGLW506C does not work; probably the phone is too new.

You're very likely right. This also makes a lot of sense as to why they'd pass Ting's BYOD checker, but not Sprint's.

I would love to pick the brain of someone at Sprint who has a firm grasp on FED and FED policy so I could lay it out for everyone.

Thanks. I read that somewhere else as well. So will what I'm proposing work? Basically I need to buy the Sims and E4's first then sign up for the offer.

I did a cricket $30 plan and then ported over without a problem for my free year of service. This does require a cricket sim to do this also and an eligible phone but you should already have that.

I have the Motorola Nexus 6 too but on Tmobile prepaid so I got past the checkpoint. It must be because Mint isn't one of the carriers Sprint wants to steal customers from.
I ported in two Mintsim numbers no problem. Port was done by the time I got off the phone with Sprint establishing this deal.
Also if they are really pushing device protection just say you have Squaretrade, worked for me.

You have to contact either Marcelo Claure, Kevin Crull, or Brandon Draper via official channel for the official FED policy. There may be some confidential info on the official FED policy that is not shareable with the public. If Ting can't get the official FED policy from Sprint, I think no one can.

Also make friends with TextNow and pick their brains as all devices sold on TextNow pass FED; they may have special agreement with Sprint.

Sprint waived the Fed date (for whatever internal reason - maybe they needed to reach a volume quota) for Tribute HD LS676's for a substantial period of time (for about 6 months, starting at release), but then later on, in January 2017, started imposing it after all, but for newly purchased devices only,

This became well known and publicized and during the 6 months it was waived, huge numbers of these phones were activated on RingPlus, Ting and all Sprint MVNO's without problem.

When they imposed it for new phones starting in Jan. 2017, they grandfathered all phones that had ever been successfully activated up to that point on any MVNO. So people are able to freely move those phones (but not most others) around between different MVNO's and do so. I have done so. Those phones are exempt from the FED check. Otherwise it would not be possible to move them onto Ting at all, for example. However newly purchased LS676's NOW *are* subject to the FED check.

I expect that Sprint will accept the grandfathered ones fine but it will have to be done manually. We will see what people report back.

I read people's post saying they were told that it was a soft credit pull by phone reps. I can confirm that this is not true. It is hard pull. My credit score just dipped because of Sprint's credit pull.
