Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Asking because I learned in another question that you can not use their Phone number as placeholder, That terminates their service.
A phone number can only be on 1 network at a time. So once a port is complete, the service with the previous carrier is terminated.

If you use a family member's 'eligible' Verizon iPhone 5S IMEI as a placeholder so you swap it later with another phone, does that affect their Verizon service in any way?

Asking because I learned in another question that you can not use their Phone number as placeholder, That terminates their service.

Thanks
Did not affect the verizon service in any way. This was important for me because I wanted to keep the same device on the same plan on verizon and I just wanted to use the IMEI as a placeholder, and it worked!

Verniculous - Thank you very much for answering both questions very clearly. Applause
Your answers are wiki-worthy. You may want to add to wiki. Or, I'll add to wiki and give you credit for it.

1) You can use anther phone's IMEI as placeholder without affecting their phone service

2) Do not use a working phone number as placeholder because it will terminate that service.
Quote from Verniculous :
Sprint's and Verizon's networks are completely separate so there is no effect at all having the same phone on both a Sprint and a Verizon line. The phone can only work on 1 network at a time though, obviously because it can only have 1 SIM in it at a time.

Thank you. Crystal Clear answer on something that has been nagging me for a while as I do not have an 'eligible' spare phone. Applause

You need to get another phone. Sprint will not whitelist a Verizon iPhone SE.

If you want to do this promo, you need to get a different phone.
Quote from Verniculous View Post :
That's not the issue. The issue is that your model iPhone SE cannot be whitelisted by Sprint so you will never be able to use it on Sprint. You are wasting your time calling, that device will never be used on Sprint.
Quote from Verniculous View Post :
You need to give up. There is nothing a rep can do for you. The Verizon, TMobile and AT&T iPhone SEs cannot be whitelisted for use on Sprint. This is because they are a different model from the Sprint iPhone SE. The Sprint DMD does not have a way to allow the Verizon, TMobile and AT&T iPhone SEs onto the network.

No rep can change that fact. You need to get a different phone if you want to be on Sprint. There is no way around this.
Quote from Verniculous View Post :
Sprint won't whitelist the Verizon iPhone SE.
Quote from Verniculous View Post :
You cannot get a Verizon or AT&T or TMobile iPhone SE whitelisted on Sprint like I said.
Quote from Verniculous View Post :
Yep and Sprint won't whitelist A1662.

For sure once the port completes your service with your old carrier will terminate.

However, some people are saying that the port doesn't complete until you put the Sprint SIM in the phone and turn it on. So it is possible you could initiate the port but delay its completion by not turning on the phone with the Sprint SIM in it.

I personally would not risk doing that but it may be a possibility.

For sure you aren't. I see plenty of people posting here who cannot get the non-Sprint iPhone SE's whitelisted. A few claim they have been successful but yet I see no proof of that. Someone posted a picture of them holding a phone as if that somehow proved something, of course it didn't.

Thanks for the caveat.
I completely agree and would not risk using another phone NUMBER as placeholder.
Also, someone said if you do not complete the port for some time, it may get flagged as fraud. Not worth taking a chance when there are other low cost options like GV, Tmo, FP.

In step 1, can you port out at any time or do you have to stay with VZ for a number of days?

Contact literallyunlimited on reddit. Give him your IMEI and ask if he can flip it back to sprint
How to check whether that flag is attached with the device. I suspect for mine one also since it was from freedompop.

I should receive the sim tomorrow or day after tomorrow. For activating with SE using unlocked GV, anything one should be aware of OR it is straightforward?
Will it create a new Sprint account or we should use the old account (that gave SE) that doesn't have any line in it right now?

Please advise.

I am with AT&T right now, and my phone is not paid for, so I cannot port right now.
Do I still have to use this deal, if I pay off the phone today, seeing the deal ends in a week?

At the top, it said I could go to local Sprint to get a SIM, but also said, "Do all these on the web." So it seems that I have a long way:
1. Pay off (today)
2. Unlock from AT&T
3. Apply for this deal with Sprint
4. Get Sprint SIM (from where?)
5. Port the number
6. Complete

Do I still have time?

First make sure your phone is compatible, it probably isn't if it's AT&T branded. They ship the sim overnight if you use the website linked. You don't necessarily need to pay off the phone, AT&T will send a final bill if you port.

For those who are porting the existing number to this plan, what do you do after you activate the new Sprint SIM on the website? I think they suggest you to insert the new SIM to the phone but that creates downtime since your current provider can take sometime to confirm the request. I'm wondering if I leave as is after the activation then wait until the current service to stop before inserting the new SIM. Basically, I would like to have least downtime as possible.

It makes no difference . Your new Sprint sim will not have service until your exist number is released by your current provider.
