I want to sign up for the BYOD 1-year free plan. I'll bring in new eligible phone and number (both placeholders). I have SIM so I'm going to have to call to open the free account.
Can I use my existing Sprint account (bill pending) to add the BYOD Free plan? Would that risk the Free plan?
OR should I open a new account in wife's name so as not to risk the Free plan?
Asking because various posts hint at partial answer but they also involve other issues such as porting back the same number/phone. Looking for a clear answer.
Thanks
Also, you would have to find someone whose credit was so bad that they couldn't pass a credit check even with a deposit otherwise they could open their own free line and who needed postpaid service for some reason such that a prepaid or MVNO line wouldn't work for them.
Then you would have find someone who didn't care about their privacy, didn't care that they would never have access to customer care so they wouldn't be able to troubleshoot any service issues or change their device and didn't care that they are giving up ownership of their number to a complete stranger.
Then you would have to deal with the fact that if they took their SIM out of the country, they could rack up international charges and you would have no way to know until the charges appeared on the account, which can take days to occur and by then thousands of dollars in international charges could have accumulated and you would be 100% responsible for those with no way to escape liability.

Wife's name, yup. Don't forget $50 referral credits/line!
I loaded my S8+ with the universal firmware. Called Sprint to open a Clickit ticket. I called in few days later to check on the ticket. It was closed but the IMEI number is still not recognized by Sprint system.
I really want to use my S8+ on the sprint network.
Thanks,

1) Why online only? I already have 2 Sprint SIMs. Don't want to waste $15 on another. I read in several posts that when people didn't want SIM they got act opened via Sprint Telesales Promo number 866-782-8777. Am I missing something?
2) Thanks for the reminder about referral. How does the referral work?
I went to the link in wiki, created a referral act. I thought I'll give referral to my wife, then she'll open a new account for Free BYOD.. But...when I put in my Sprint phone number (canceled) from the SE promo it says
"The Sprint Phone Number you provided is not eligible to participate"
How can I get the referral?

Now if I can get better than .05-.5mbs download speed at home that I am getting at work. But my sprint hotspot at home has good speeds so my phone should.
Also you can refer others for another $450 by end of year.

Part 1
My wife has an 800+ credit score. She ordered the SIMs and got a letter saying her credit was denied. Called them and they said she needed to go into the store and verify identity with 2 pieces of ID. The store people were completely clueless so she called the credit department number listed on the letter. To cut a long story short after 3 hours in the store and talking to the credit dept they were unable to resolve it and they ran a 2nd credit application. Which Sprint denied again for some mysterious reason. "You will receive a letter in the mail explaining why".
Took 2 hard pulls for no reason.
Part 2
I ended up applying in my name and was approved instantly. My credit score is (slightly) lower than hers. Her iphone SE was switched to Sprint and all we see is 1x or 3G coverage. 2.06 Mbps down and 0.85 down. The Sprint cell site is 300 feet away!
My T-mobile is 27.7 Mbps down and 31.9 up. (Ok the T-mobile cell site is right on top of my office building; Sprint is 2 buildings away).
I was planning to switch too but now I'm having second thoughts...
