The old sims should work but you would need to call the special promo number
ok, so those old SIMs dont carry any previous info about past activations? Sorry if that is a dumb question but just being cautious.

also, after i port over, i intend to port my wife's number over onto my byod acct (by calling promo line) but is that problematic at all since she was a previous customer? Or do they not care WHO she is just in her number and her device?

They don't care. Put the imei and phone number in the eligibility checker to see if it pass.

I had a quick question. If the eligible devices you are bringing over like the iPhone 6, already has a Sprint SIM from before when it was previously activated on Sprint, will you still require new SIMs to get this plan? Can the plan get activated on them?

Or does it have to be bought from the BYOD SIM card page or Best Buy?
this is the same question i had. i think the answer is no we dont need new SIMs, we can use old ones that were on Sprint previously. I contemplated getting a new pair from best buy but may choose not to for time savings. But if u do, I would try best buy - mine just gave to me free but YMMV.

It makes sense, but svsfan said you have to call the promo line. I'm just trying to grasp what happens once you make the order and it's time for activation. I've been able to switch around phones and SIMs easily on My Sprint, so I'm confused what's the intervention for. What's the promo attached to?

successfully ported wife's 6s+ and number off sprint onto my existing VZ acct. they even handed me this $200 visa gc offer i can register for porting 6s over! i wont be eligible for it since i will port her back over soon on my new byod acct but i might just apply for it and see what happens! unfortunately i may end up having to pay for her activation on my VZ acct even though they promised to wave it as it doesnt happen upfront.
The $200 VISA takes a minimum of 45 days to get approved. The waived activation fee is supposed to come in 1-2 billing cycles but mine never came and I had to call to get it credited.

So I tested checking out right now and it seems to force the SIM cards for each eligible phone. So I'm guessing you need at least one order to open the account and then add the rest though the promo department, which there isn't much time for you. So I'll just take the hit I guess.

Just a FYI if you are having bad signal strength at your house you can call them up and let them know that. I believe they will offer to send you a signal booster for free. They called me up about the after purchase survey I took saying not likely to recommend to friends and family because of download speed but that was while I was at work and got less than 1mb down at home is it 35-47MB through multiple tests.

I might have to do this to see if I can improve my 4GCommunity hotspot signal strenght since it uses sprint network but has a weaker signal than my phone. I remember while reading up on 4GCommunity someone linked where sprint was giving it away to sprint customers but since i was a 4G customer I did not even attempt that.

Not sure what your problem is. If you have an eligible phone, sim in hand and number to port from, then just call the promo line. They set up the account, run the credit check and set up the port. Add up to four more phones( must be ported in) if you want. The web portal just forces you to buy a sim.

Someone earlier mentioned that a rep said they might extend the promo again. But don't believe it till you see it.

All you have to do to get the activation fee waived is tell the Verizon CSR that it's BOYD and the store said it will be waived. Done.

It's not so easy when you have done 6 lines and applied for the promo. When they see that, it would be $200 credit with all the taxes and the fees and they aren't authorized to credit that much without a supervisor plus they don't want you to get a double credit so if they see you have done the promo they just keep saying to wait and the credit will show up on its own.

Plus they are getting stricter about waving these activation/upgrade fees.

now to port my phone (finally) then two more iphones. since the two iphones have been on sprint's network, can i still use the sprint SIMs from previous activation or is it advisable to go and get two new SIMs?
Using the old SIMs that were previously used on Sprint with the phones is actually easier because you won't need to read the 20 digit ICCID over the phone to the rep. The ICCID will already be filled in in the system.
