Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

i swapped phones via chat a few days after porting in, 2nd month into plan and still same plan. there is no problem switching phones.
The chat agent told me my plan will be auto switched to Unlimited plan if I swap the phone. I currently have an iPhone 6 Plus on the account, and I want to switch it to a Samsung S6 Edge. I will try calling them again soon, hope I can do over the phone.

Does anyone know if there's any chance this would work with the "Clean Slate" (as they're calling it) bill payoff from another provider?
No chance at all.

And LTE. Verizon lets you just swap sims and they use CDMA and LTE just like Sprint.
I think because Verizon can authenticate thru LTE while Sprint does not.
CDMA requires a Device Management Database (DMD) aka the whitelist. How the whitelist is implemented is up to the carrier. Sprint chose to implement theirs by associating the IMEI with the ICCID in the DMD so that you can't do SIM swaps. Verizon did not implement their DMD that way.

I've been on SERO for many years. I didn't realize that subsidized phones had gone away. I was thinking of cancelling when my contract with a Note 5 is up in December anyway, seeing how good some of the unlocked phones could be for $100-$130 (E4 and G4). I activated an E4 to keep when I do cancel, and use that until my wife's contract expires and we can switch to a family plan. I may just eat the ETF ($100 for 5 months) and go with the new free plan for myself for the next year.
I may try to port the number out to a cheap/free plan to save until I can use it again.
I'm sure this is not what Sprint had in mind with the program, but if it saves me $400 ($600 contract -$100 phone -$100 ETF) over the next year, well, it works for me.
If your plan is to port back in using your SSN, others have tried and were put on the paid plan. 1 person claims to have done it and been put on a paid plan and then they claim they were switched to a free plan later by calling in.

Thanks to folks.

I successfully opened the account, initiated porting on two freedompop numbers.

I did the porting request yesterday night and the number in fp is still active (about after 12 hours).

For those who activated from fp,
1- how long it took on porting ?

2- i am using a nexus 5 (on the website it shows ineligible, but tech team didnt said anything when I gave them imei). Used same sim which was used during r+.
Any one experienced similar? Like successful activating of device where site says ineligible but successful in activation?

3. If we only use data and no minutes will it be considered as breaking any terms and condition?
What information do we need to port a FP number to sprint ? I just phone number, is there any other information we need from FP or from my account ? how do we get if any additional info required. Thanks.

I got MotoG5 PLus and this worked great! I had to get universal sim card because they said the sim cards that are given away at Apple store DO NOT WORK for that device.

Ill tey to make this short. 3 wrrks ago i joined sprint and got 4 phones from best buy they had on sale (3se and a s7 edge). Canceled those lines. And then used one of the SE and my wife's 6s to order the new sims for the switch offer. (We are on verizon).

I got the sim cards and tried the online activation but it did not work. I called i. And a nice csr lady was able to gst me the deal. At firsr they wanted to reopen the account i just closed. But someone was able to reset it so that i qualified for the new deal. I could not use my s7 edge from sprint to do this. I needed to use the SE. After the phones werw activated. I went to chat and asked the guy to swap the SE with the s7 edge, that took about 30mins but he did not question it. My plan online shows we have the free services.

says my free plan is good till 9/30

That is good to know. Repped. So they need to do something to essentially "clear" your old account out of the system. Then you appear to be a new customer to the system.

Correct. They needed to maintain the old account number. But were able to do some sort of reset to allow this plan.

Yes, it can be activated on a regular plan but not on this special plan, because the phone is not eligible, according to the chat rep.

HI guys, newbie here,

I bought a moto g4 play unlocked to get this deal.

1. I will go to t-mobile and get a pay as you go plan and a new # for the phone
2. After a week, I will sign up online with sprint for the 1 year boyd offer
3. Order the sim card from sprint and then complete registration

Do I have my checklist right? anything else?

Does LTE work with the Moto G4 Play?

That's interesting. I am surprised that you didn't get a new account number.
