Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I purchased the SE a month ago, when it was $2.48/18 months. I received a call from BestBuy instructing me to call their Mobile group. I called and they said they couldn't add an additional BYOD line. They said they had been working with Sprint on these orders, adding the $40 plan. I said fine, go ahead. They shipped me the phone a couple of days later. I activated the phone and then immediately ported the new number to H2O which resulted in the line being cancelled. I never received a revised bill. I just paid my first bill for two lines and it was $4.13. After the phone ships you can call or chat Sprint and pay it off.

Can this same trick be repeated from phones bought at stores like Costco or Sam's Club? Or is it harder to do? And if you can do it from a place like Sam's Club,,,, any tips on what to do about the phone plans/activation?

Ok, just got the lines activated.

Couple of things to share to save time one new folks

1. Cheapest option worked was freedompop.
My.freedompop.com
Port out info

2. Though online says ineligible, I know mine was compatible, I just told tech team that it passed online and after couple of tries with them, they passed it. I got my google nexus 5 working.

3. Port in case of freedompop took 24 hours. So be prepared if you plan to port your main number.

4. Plan is extended for sure till Aug end, so don't rush and make mistake. On three different calls with 5 different folks I heard them saying its till september.

5. Make sure you have information like imei, iccid handy. Buy the SIM either through ting, eBay, best buy, amazon or Sprint prior to call.

6. When you call them, get the account setup. It means they should get all details including credit card, run credit check and at end providing an account number and you should Set 6 digit pin. It saves time if you need to call again. The calls routed through Asian country, so be prepared to learn patience. But they are good. Verified with three friends, all said ours soft pull. Still can't trust them.

7. Once you get the account setup online, faster way to get support is online chat. Other option is to call 800-584-3666 tech. I find chat worked very fast.

8. Get account number, reference number and set your login right away. Decline the insurance right away if you don't need.

9. If you upgrade device through sprint within 120 days of activation, you lose free plan. You can swap device with your own unlocked ones. After 120 days, yoh can upgrade and keep the plan.

Hope it saves some tinge for new bees to go through a lot of messages like I did

I'm planing to port out my freedompop number as well. You said it took 24 hours for you for that to happen, so does it mean that I need to keep the phone off and on again in a day or two to see if the port was successful? Thanks.
Huhhh, my Sprint port in (from FP) took only 1+ hr.

Thank you community for great support. I hope below information is useful for anyone on Project FI.
How to port the number from Project FI. My Nexus 5x was not elligible until the phone was deregistered by Project FI from Sprint network.
First of all purchase byod sim card for your specific device at sprint store for 10 bucks so you do not have to wait for delivery when your phone becomes eligible.
1. Cancel service with Project Fi transferring number to Google Voice.
2. It took 2 days until service cancellation completed. Call project FI and ask to have your phone deregistered from Sprint as you cannot activate it on Sprint network.
The moment it was done I was able to verify that my phone was eligible for promo
3. your account number from google voice is your phone number, and setup PIN for voicemail that will be asked for by Sprint representative.

Change your PIN
On your computer, open Google Voice.
At the top left, open Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
Click the "Voicemail & Text" tab.
Next to "Voicemail PIN," enter and confirm your new PIN.
At the bottom, click Save changes.

- Obi1andKobe
4. Unlock your phone number in google voice so it can be ported out.
5. verify that your phone is eligible at sprint site
6.Call sprint 1866-782-8777 and let them know that your phone is eligible for the promo and you already purchased sim card at the store. I told them that it is project fi service, as I did not know they can decline Google Voice number.
6. After setting up the account, porting number failed. check status https://shop2.sprint.com/en/wlnp/check.shtml

7. Called sprint porting support 1877-345-7906 or 888-211-4727 and let them know that porting failed and need to have it ported from google voice. After 5 minutes my phone was active.

What if you needed to add additional lines? Who do you need to call? My account is already established.

Not necessary. I left the SIM card in the phone and kept phone on. I just checked logging in online, if it said it will send message to the numbers you are trying to port, then porting is successful. Once port is success either you can do the pro update urself or with help from chat

My most concern is $60 GC..to offset the cost, will be sent via the email 48 hr, after the activation.

To be safe, I will try to activate it w/out opening the box. Worse comes to the worst, I'll return it (w/out the restocking fee...$35).
I'm going to try the same. the kicker is the $60 gift card. if need be, I'll port the number out right away and then try to port it back into sprint.

Yes, that's my plan. Good luck...for getting this Moto-E4 for almost free (except, the tax & activation fee...which should be exempted, according to the T&C of BYOD promotion).

Is the Samsung Galaxy 8 Special Edition another word for unlocked? I was going to purchase two S8 from Samsung directly and then port over from Tmoblie.

After putting sim it always says sim locked-restart phone or call customer service. I called but so fare it has same issue. They told me to go to sprint store even swipe my sim card with new but still same issue. Any one is having this kind of issue? If yes how to solve?
