Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Do you need to have given Sprint the SIM/ICCID number to receive full 4G/LTE?

I signed up my daughter's phone yesterday (Moto G4) and it works, but only at 3G. I've tried toggling the 4G settings but it only ever connects at 3G. (I've not tried the potential Wiki entry fix for this yet where you swap a GSM card in and fiddle with the APN)

Today when I went to add on my son's phone they actually asked me for the ICCID, whereas yesterday they didn't. Is this maybe why the Moto G4 doesn't have 4G?

The simglw446c(19662040146) and simolw416c(854798005095) should work with the G5 plus also.

Thanks, that's good to know if someone can find these parts.
However, it's very difficult to find a Sprint Company Store with a SIM in stock that'll work on the G5 Plus. The Sprint Dealer stores that may have it charge a lot for these cards.
And the only SIM fit for this phone according to the Sprint reps who handle this Free BYOD offer at the 1-866-782-8777 phone number is the Part #: SIMOLW506C that's printed on the plastic SIM card holder, with the Sprint SKU #: 760492034500 that's printed on the outside of the SIM envelope under the scan bars.

It's possible. Was your daughter's G4 and sim(iccid) previously activated on Sprint? If so some people mentioned that the iccid would prepopulate when entering the Imei.

You also can try reset network settings
Open the dialer
Dial *#*#72786#*#*
Phone will restart and will indicate that it's Activating.
Then try profile and prl update.
Profile update
Tap the Application icon
Tap Settings
Tap More...
Tap Mobile networks or Cellular networks
Tap Carrier settings
Tap Update profile or Update device config
Once the update is complete, tap OK

3. PRL Update

Tap the Application icon
Tap Settings
Tap More...
Tap Mobile networks or Cellular networks
Tap Carrier settings
Tap Update PRL
Once the update is complete, tap OK

You bet. Contrary to GSM phone, CDMA phones do not need SIM for voice and 3G data. LTE is brainchild of GSM/WCDMA system and it indeed needs SIM card to be functioning properly.

So if you are a current Sprint customer is the best way to get this deal for my Moto G4's with Sprint already.

1. Port out to H20 wireless using a 1c sim on Pay as you go plan and don't add any money.

2. Call H20 wireless to get acct and Pin # to port out. (Can I do this right after setting up my H20 PAYG plan?) Is there a way to get acct# and pin# without contacting customer service?

3. Call Sprint and reinsert all my Sprint sims to the correct phone and add my 3 lines to this free plan?

Does this look correct? Will H20 let me start an acct with $0.

Thanks.

Yes, her G4 and the SIM I used were both previously on RingPlus. Then Ting after R+ imploded, then Cricket, then H2O. And I ported back from H2O to Sprint yesterday.

My son's Nexus 5X, which I activated today, has never been on Sprint or a Sprint MVNO previously, and so perhaps this is why they asked me for the ICCID.

When my daughter shows up I'll try those steps you mentioned. Thanks.

a sprint store would be my last resort, those guys are snobs treating MVNO folks like second class scumbags . You can often get SIMGLW446C $4.99 (nano SIM) from BB phone dept if you ask, mini wiki here https://slickdeals.net/f/8326353-ringplus-compatible-sprint-sim-simglw426c-card-bestbuy-2-99-b-m-only?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Can you elaborate what error? Sprint web site just likes its network, prone to failure.
I called their CS and did the activation and credit check over the phone. My number was transferred in less than 5 mins. I bought a Sim card from Sprint online. Thank you much for your response.

Best Buy have the sim for the Moto G5 Plus for $10. Forgot the product number but they have it. Same Sim I used for a Pixel and a Nexus 5x.

Simglw446c $10 from Best Buy worked for my Moto X Pure, Moto G5 Plus and Nexus 5x. The iPhones have different part numbers.
