Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Just activated a line over the phone.. whoever said the number doesn't work is wrong.. it worked for me... just waiting for my account info to update and show the new line
I called at 9:30 PM CT and received a message saying, "Thank you for calling Sprint. The number you have entered is invalid." I called again now and got the message, "Thank you for calling Telesales. Our offices are currently closed." I guess they were just busy.

Just got off the phone with the 8777 number about 45 minutes ago and had such a great experience getting an account activated with the promo. I used the SIM from the Virgin Mobile promo and I'm already rocking a free year on my 7 Plus (until the 8 comes out that is). So far service is on par with the other 3 carriers at my house.

Can I give sprint an imei and have the sim associated with that number and then later on change the phone before putting the son in that actual phone?

I switched to Sprint with this deal. I live in Atlanta, but I had to come to the Upoer Peninsula of Michigan for an extended period of time due to a family emergency. The coverage map says 3G up here, but it is roaming. So I used majority roaming data and they cut off my data. I haven't had a chance to call and bitch yet because of the family emergency.

While roaming you're limited to 100Mb/mo and 800 mins/mo.

Sprint may terminate svc. if off-network roaming usage in a mo. exceeds: (1) 800 min. or a majority of min.; or (2) 100MB or a majority of KB.

So I charged up 5 of my old Sprint 6/6Ses. I signed up for one account online not knowing I had to sign up for all 5 lines at the same time using the numbers I bought from Google Voice for $3 each. So I guess they ran my credit once for the first line and again for the other four lines. I had to pay overnight shipping twice on the SIMs even though I had them. I'm not sure I'll get the AAdvantage bonus or referral bonus for my friend's account now, but I didn't want to risk losing this deal. Looks like I'm locked in with 5 free accounts for the year. I just plan to alternate tethering the data connections on the phones for the first month until I distribute the numbers to family and friends.

Yes don't forget to sign up for the 25,000 bonus miles for American Airlines. I did but will have to wait until Oct 2nd to see if it went through. That's what my confirmation page said after I signed up. I did preregistar last night before activating my account today. Not sure if that will make any difference.

Sprint cold not do the credit check online for me and asked to call customer care. They said, go to the store ... *frustrated already!* not sure how worth this free service is going on if I get it!
Quote from getdealsonline :
Has anyone experienced the site saying.. "we are not able to confirm your credit check online. Please call the number for more information"

When I called I was told to the sprint store for valid identification ... Now wondering if this deal will be honored in store.

It's been an annoying experience already ...

Do not get discouraged.

Sprint simply could not approve your credit and lines over the phone or online.

The fact that Sprint sent you to the store is actually a good sign. They know your credit scores and you are credit-worthy. They just need to verify your identity.

So bring your driver's license, go to the store (Sprint corporate stores only, not authorized dealers), and verify your identity. The store will set up only your account without plans/lines and you need to answer a few questions about your past after the store connects you to Sprint's Credit Dept.

Do not set up the free BYOD lines in the store (just account with account number, your pin, and # of lines you request and approved by the Sprint's Credit Dept.) no matter what the sales people tell you. The sales people should know by now not to set up the BYOD plan in the store if you tell them that is what you want to do.

Do not assume Sprint's credit system is 100% in sync with the Credit Bureau's systems. If there is a discrepancy between/among the systems. Sprint will send you to the store to verify your identity and approve the lines you are eligible for.

After your account and (edit: # of) approved lines are set up at the corporate store, you can then contact Sprint's BYOD hotline to set up you BYOD plan.

Our experiences.

In early July, my wife and I went to a Best Buy store to sign up for the iPhone special deals.

I was approved and signed up for 5 lines without issue, but my wife was approved for only one line even though we basically have the same scores. Even after the Sprint rep at the BB store called Sprint, they could not resolve my wife's problem. So she did not sign up for the iPhone deals.

After we came home, I called Sprint again. Sprint's Credit Dept. approved 5 lines for my wife without hesitation, but they requested that my wife go to a corporate store to verify her identity because of a discrepancy on Sprint's credit system. We went to a corporate store and in 10 minutes my wife got approved for 5 lines and more.

We now have more than 5 lines approved, but we only use 5 lines each.

So my suggestion is to make a trip to a Sprint corporate store to have your identity verified. Good luck.

FYI, I switched service from T-Mobile to Sprint. T-Mobile service and speed far surpasses Sprint. On Sprint I can barely connect to the internet half the time without it timing out. When this "free" year of service is over, I will be switching back to T-Mobile. Even Verizon is slower than T-Mobile in Denver.
When I left Sprint years ago, I went to Tmobile and it was a big improvement over Sprint. Free service is a different story but I pay so little on cricket that the cost of getting a decent, sprint compatible phone to use for one year is hardly a breakeven, forgetting the difference in coverage and service.

The free 1-year BYOD plan can only be signed up either online or over the phone by calling that specific promo number, 866-782-8777.

You cannot sign up for the free plan in the store. Stores only offer paid plans, but you can set up you account (only) first in the store.

Once you set up the account in the store, call the promo number to sign up and activate your eligible phones and SIM's for the free one-year plan.

My sim card will be arriving today. I sign up using the web and pay for the sim and shipping. Once i receive the sim card, it should work right away or do i need to call 866-782-8777 first? My old account is with H20, during the web checkout, it didnt ask for port in information? Also my H20 account has no credit, will not matter? I port to h20 pay 2 go using the sim card but haven't added any funds.
