Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Thanks syscom. I went to the store - the guy set up my account, gave me the number and had me select 6 digit pin.

Called the 800 and then everything went smooth - the agent took my credit card to charge $10.69 which includes expedited shipping and i believe the SIMS were free!

I checked Sprint map in my region, it shows dark green excellent coverage. will let you know. and anyway freeing up $125 a month with free service, if someone can't hear me on the other line too bad, get a Sprint too so I can't hear you either
Hi. I just wanted to say how amazed I am, not about this Sprint deal, which is great, but about the fact that you have 6900 reputation points to 6899 posts. To have more points than posts, now that's truly a rare Slickdeal! laugh out loudApplause

Did I fail to mention that Sprint has a terrible network? My data is frustratingly slow and my calls drop occasionally. In terms of favorability and speed T-Mobile is my pick followed closely by Verizon, with Sprint a distant 3rd.

Hopefully these next "free' twelve months go by quickly, so I can switch back to a reliable network.

Only reason I haven't ported my main TMobile numbers is because they gave me unlimited data(no tethering or HD reductions) till 2019. I have 10 lines with them for $270/month. I'm only gonna be alive once, so saving money won't mean anything to me when I'm dead. What I don't understand is why some YouTube videos still show buffering if this is supposed to be a 30 mb/sec connection. I guess this is just the way the internet works.

Sprint's network is terrible depending on the location, but for most people it has very slow data speeds.
Some people in the WIKI get speeds of over 20Mbs and some over 50Mbps but most get less than 10Mbps and usually less than 5Mbps.
That's the weakest point of Sprint, very low data speeds in most of the US.
So far they're serviceable speeds but if they drop any lower.........it's not worth the $60/mo/line fee and may not even worth it for free for most people.
Maybe that's why Sprint is giving these free lines.... most people will not pay for such low data speeds service.

The problem now is the more subscribers Sprint puts on its system, the higher the congestion and the lower the data speeds.
I will not expect this situation to change in the future since Sprint does not have the money to improve its data network infrastructure since it's losing billions of $$$$$ and losing the knowledgeable personnel to fix it.

See my other post here on this subject:

https://slickdeals.net/forums/showpost.php?p=104067020&postcount=9340

Sprint's financial situation is not at all promising, and actually it's very bleak:

https://seekingalpha.com/article/...ntain-debt

By the time this free BYOD program ends on 9/30/2018, Sprint may no longer be Sprint as we know it today.

My family is currently using red pocket (Verizon) with unlocked iphone 6/6s, but our number isnt compatible. Anyone know a way to fix this? I know the phones should work with sprint, so is it the carrier problem? We still have half a year left on our plan, so is there a way we can keep the numbers and still get the unlimited 1 year?

TIA

Man, I loved Sprint. But they were actually more expensive than T-Mobile for me since my mother was willing to go halves on the $100 for two lines deal. Crazy, because T-mobile has been shitty for me many times but especially in new place! It's so frustrating now. My unlocked Sprint SE is for shit though. Screen dims randomly without explanation, and Apple can't find anything wrong with it. Freezes and glitches abound now. Unfortunately I'm not eligible for this promotion because I already had an account earlier this year. Rep said I could only get a free phone! Fudge

Just by TMobile prepaid sims online for whatever the current price is, likely $10 a sim, they come pre activated, so you'll need to figure out the phone number and then set the pin, see https://help.ting.com/hc/en-us/ar...%20Prepaid or http://www.prepaidphonenews.com/2...-your.html, then port over those new numbers. You can then choose at will to use your red pocket or sprint lines.

Not sure how to search for this: I went to sprint.com/activate now after getting my SIM card. Got to the screen that says "Transfer your number(s)" where you fill in the information on your current information for the number. I click Finish, and the little yellow status bars are moving to indicate that I clicked it. However, I've been sitting at this screen for 10 minutes now. Is it safe to close and re-enter the information? I can't tell if it timed-out or not. I haven't received an email that says porting in progress.

You should call the promo tel # in the Wiki to do this and avoid complications.

Is it safe to call in if I have a T-Mobile prepaid number I'm trying to port over? I wonder if the hang up is due to the fact that it asks for last 4 of social/SSN for the transfer. I never attached a social/SSN to this prepaid line.

You've got to call in, it's safe.
As I said, the reps there are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I did the same from a prepaid T-Mo.
You MUST have the T-Mo prepaid account # which is the phone # itself, AND the pin that you established when you got the prepaid T-Mo #. If you don't have it call T-Mo customer service and they'll give it to you.
Without those #s there can be no porting.

What a mess. I called into the 8777 number. The rep couldn't find my Sprint account, so they wanted to me apply all over again and run another credit check. No, I already ran a credit check when I applied online (I already see the inquiry on my credit report), that's why a SIM card was mailed to me in the first place.

Yes, I already have my correct T-Mobile account # (1-XXX-XXX-XXXX) and my confirmed PIN.

You must have called the wrong tel #. It's not an 877 #.
The tel # in the Wiki is:
the Promo number @ 866-782-8777 to set up service and activate your line,
and the reps there should know.
Try this #. If you called it already call again and get a different rep or ask for a supervisor.
