So I can set up the acocat in the store and have them not add any plan, and then just call the 1800 number to have them get me the sims and they already put me on the plan. or i need to have the sim cards before.
Quote from getdealsonline :
Yes, that is absolutely correct. The store rep will check your drivers and then call their finance to confirm who will then also speak to you to to verify three questions from your public information available Once verified, hand the phone back to the rep who will complete the account process for you, will have an account number and a 6-digit that you will have created at that time.

Then call the 866 number. The agent on the phone (when you call) might ask if you have Sprint SIM and some ICCID# on it that you can give, just say I don't have Sprint account (if you indeed don't), and nor does the store have it ... and therefore no SIM as of now. Can you please get it shipped to me?

I believe those agents work on individual sales and they want to be the one to close the deal so will send the SIM and schedule to call when your SIM arrives so they can set up the service.

As of now, I am expecting my SIM delivery tomorrow and probably call from the agent tomorrow itself.

This is syscom. I would like to add to getdealsonline's reply to you.

I advised getdealsonline to go to a Sprint corporate store to have his identity verified because that was what Sprint promo rep, in conjunction with Sprint's Credit Dept., asked him to do when he called the 866 promo number.

If you have eligible phone(s) and SIM(s) and port-in number(s) ready, you can just call the 866 promo number and set up your free 1-year BYOD plan right away. If Sprint's credit system approves your line(s) (while you are on the call), you will have the free BYOD plan established on the same call.

If (and only if) the promo rep cannot establish your credit lines for whatever reasons and asks you to go a Sprint corporate store to have your identity verified, you go to a Sprint corporate store to verify your identity and have your account, pin, and # of approved lines set up in the store.

After your account is set up in the store, call the promo number to set up your free BYOD plan.

If you want to save the $12 SIM shipping charge, get your own SIM(s). Purchase the SIM's from Best Buy or Ebay or Sprint MVNO's if necessary. If you want free SIM's, go to Apple store (if iPhone) or ask Sprint corporate store for free SIM(s). YMMV. If you do not want to deal with the SIM hassle, pay the shipping and have Sprint send you the SIM(s) just as getdealsonline did.

Once you have eligible phone(s) and SIM(s) and port-in number(s) ready, call the 866 promo number to set up the free 1-year BYOD plan.

For reference only, Here is Ting's (Sprint MVNO) SIM chart. [ting.com] Ting's chart is comprehensive enough, but not complete.

Read the wiki first it has a lot of useful info.

Hope this is clear enough. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

Are you sure is not one of his friends doing this or...his PC is key logged

SIM's are sent out by Sprint
Or Sprint's database is compromised/Sprint employees are potentially involved. Calls came from an 800 number and he was able to call that number back and got the same person. The request for SSN/credit card info. is what gave him pause.

This deal isn't even worth it for free... I've had Sprint 2 months now, and it sucks. Absolutely useless. Even with 3 bars lte my data is so deprioritized with this plan that it takes minutes to Google something! It's so bad! When I'm driving and need to look something up real quick it's such a pain!!

I've been on this Sprint free for a year plan for a good 4 days now and it's been pretty solid, not gonna lie. Signing up via the customer service line was a breeze, and my service is pretty good for the most part. No phone bill for a year with service that may not be the best, but I can live with? I'll take it.

Scam alert!

A friend of mine signed up for this deal. Right on the day he got the sim cards, he got a call from an 800#. They said they were calling from Sprint, knew all the details from his application, got all his info. (SIM card, current carrier info and IMEI number, etc). When they asked for his SSN and credit card, he refused to share it. They insisted he call back a Sprint number (something along the lines of 1877-sprint1 or some such) and it was the same people. Long story short, his IMEI numbers were compromised and are currently being used by someone else on Sprint. His current carrier agreed to support his phones given the situation.

Watch out guys..
False information.
technology, the imei of the phone can be altered anytime. but it is still useless without the SIM....

I am experiencing a minor issue and hoping someone here has a solution.

I signed up for this service for myself and family. 5 lines. Everything is working well. For myself I activated on a Verizon iphone 6. Because that is what I had laying around that was an eligible device. I am not an iphone guy really wanted to switch to an Android device. Something that supported wifi calling and LTE Plus would be even better. So I bought a used Galaxy S7 edge (Sprint Model) on Craigslist. Clean ESN. I could not switch from the iphone 6 to galaxy S7 using the online device activation tool. It recommended that I go into the store. So that is what I did. They could not do it. So I called customer service and they could not do it either. And none of them know why it doesn't work.

They appear to be able to switch the phone in their tool, but my device does not activate with the account. I cannot make a call with the Galaxy S7 as I get a recording that says account not activated.

I switched back to iphone 6 and everything works again. But I really want to ditch iphone 6.

I have read plenty of messages here from people who have got the Sprint phones to work on the BYOD plan, after initially activating with a required device. So I am assuming that is not the issue. The 120 days limit is for me getting a device from Sprint. And I am not doing that.

Anybody has any advice on what to try next? I am really hoping to not be tied to an iphone 6 for the next 4 months.

You're screwed. Sprint won't activate that phone. This is just how they operate.

A few things to try. Check for correct sim card 506C or 416C should say version1.04.
Does imei pass sprint byod checker if not what does ting byod cdma checker say.

Most likely they just did not provision it right and you should just try again with online Sprint tech. support. Or you did not put enough effort into trying to get it to work. It can take a couple of hours of PRL updates, reboots, reset cellular data, etc. as pointed out by others. Did you try all of those repeatedly?

Beyond that, you could try activating it as an additional line rather than swapping. There is no reason this should work better but you never know. Then you could discontinue the iPhone later.

Other that that, the device could be defective. You could try it on an mvno like Tello to test this at low cost but then the ownership flag will have to be set back to SPCS afterward to move it back to Sprint postpaid.

I have a question. After 2 months of using it and nothing but bad signal wherever I go. Can I just port out and be done with it without further obligation?
Thanks!
