. Should I ask for $3 per day prepaid plan from T-Mobile?
Once you have a t-mobile pre paid sim, call their toll free number and activate the sim, choose the "pay as you go" plan. The $3 pay as you go plan includes 30 minutes of talk time and 30 text messages. If you can get away without funding it with more money the better. Otherwise it's minimum $10 to fund it, and it is still ok. You'll save for 12 months anyways.

BEST porting experience ever.
- READ & follow instruction on the link.
- Bought SIM which arrives 2 days later.
- Sprint dude called, set up the account.
- 20 mins later T Mobile $30 prepaid unlimited that I had it for 3 years ported with no drama.
- Nexus 6
Fellow nexus6-user. I have had a good experience too. I am sure if you do this online its painless. Btw whats the Tmobile $30 unlimited plan you have? Is it still available? That seems like a great plan in its own right. Smilie

so I will need to port postpaid sprint number out to att, H2O or T-Mobile first, which would deactivate sprint iPhone SE and make it eligible to port back?
You may also need to use a different social security number for credit check etc since they require new customers to port in.

ok so I called the number and im almost done but now they are saying that both my credit cards were flaggged for fraud

I then call bank of america. and was told that the error was on sprints end. That sprint rejected my credit card. Why would that happen ?

Yes that would be a minimum just on the phone side, but I do not know if they will even allow you to have this offer at all since you are currently a PostPaid customer. I think someone said they had succeeded in doing so but I do not know details. I think had to close out the postpaid account completely. Hopefully someone else will post.

I would suggest call and ask.

If you have a family member who has the necessary credit under their own SSN that would be another way.

I had to call in and I got up to the part of ordering sim for my account , but sprint rejected my credit card. They said they would call back in a hour but never called so im about to call in again to see if I can get the plan activated with a sprint sim I got on my own.

Are the sprint SIMs same for Iphone and Android [eligible devices on sprints BYOD FAQs] ?
From my understanding they are different. I don't know enough about this to comment, but I only knew the iPhone/Apple one because of this link in the wiki as it mentioned the SKU #, which matched what I got from apple: http://www.androidpolice.com/2015...on-sprint/

answer is probably

sprint copied this offer to virginmobile.. and that one is a $1 too.. the bigger difference is.. no taxes..
Is that a better route to take? I can't sign up until next week when my VZW contract is up. Whether the Sprint offer is or isn't available, do you know anything about the Virgin service? I haven't seen much about it on forums. Mostly Sprint threads.

Did you have to use a different name or social security number?
I don't know if I had to but I did. My gf has a paid account. I open a new account for the promotion under my name.

FYI to anyone that is under similar situation as me. You can port out your number to tmobile and back into sprint using the original sprint sim card all within the same day. No need to get a new one. As soon as you port out it removes the phone and sim card from the sprint account.

You also do not need to activate the phone to tmobile.

I successfully did this with 3 lines. I would go to tmobile to get a prepaid account and port out the sprint phone number. I wouldn't even put the tmobile sim card into the phone. I later would go home and call the sprint promo number and tell them I want to add another line ported in from tmobile. I gave them the same sim card numbers that were originally on the paid account and they were all ported on the spot, no issues This saves time and any compatibility issues.
