one more question that I didn't easily find... any special instructions with device swapping once all lines are setup to keep the free year or it's just standard sprint support to do this?

Update: Opened 3 lines and attempted to port 3 unlocked lines from GV. All 3 failed. I was asked for an account number and PIN. I did set the voicemail PIN and provided it. I said the account number is the phone number, is that right? What do I do now?

yeah i paid 3x $3 to unlock. was I wrong to say that the they were 3 different accounts and each phone # is the respective account number (for example 555-555-5555) with my voicemail PIN?

they also asked what service provider so i said google

Update: I finally got all 3 lines ported over, 2 hours later. Still on the phone with them because they activated the wrong # on the wrong device so now need to do a swap.
Update 2: They are saying they can't do a swap because one of the lines has a $45 2GB plan. WTF?

P.S. My speed is 0.3DL and 0.4UL This is in north NJ.. My ATT device gets 15DL/10UL and Verizon gets 35DL/25UL.

..Do those 2 options make sense?
based on what u have said, it appears u (ur friend) will be spending ~100, one way or another)

it makes no sense to pay 100 etf (cant get that back)
better to get a device (the moto for 110), activate on a eligible carrier, like tmobile prepaid (cheap ~$3).
in a day or 2, port that tm number to your existing account, with that moto phone.
then in 1 month, when att is no longer in contract, port the current att number and swap devices

finally try to recoup the cost by selling the moto phone

nothing special. need a sprint device (now...any sprint device will suffice). call tech support. tell them u want to swap, but make sure the plan will not change...confirm that at least 2-3 times

done

cant help. never ported in from gv. hopefully others can chime in. also, read the wiki, i thought there were steps in there on how to port a gv number

finally, if still not working, some have suggested get a tmbole prepaid number, cheap ($3 investment) and port that

I'm using 3g rather than LTE at my location since it's faster. Maybe people with slow speed can try it.

Bummer with getting wrong plan on 1 line.
For speed try carrier reset(##25327#,call) then service update(##873283#,call)

I check IMEI of an unlocked iPhone 6 I bought from t-mobile, it says it's not eligible. Is there anything I can do?

Was it ever on a sprint mvno? Try running it through ting byod checker (with find my iphone off) If passes for cdma you can try sprint checker again(ting checker can push eligible imei into sprint list) or will need plbl flag changed to spcs.

I just switched, my daughters iPhone 5s isn't compatible, but the other 3 were. Can I just purchase a sprint locked phone on eBay and use it or does it need to be on the compatibility list?

I bought a LG G5, V20 and Samsung s7 edge from ebay.. Neither of them is in the list, but I was able to activate the lines for free plan. I also got a phone with bad ESN.. Had to send it back.

We're they original to Sprint? I'm looking at getting her another 5s or a 5c but original to sprint. Does anyone foresee any issues?
