That's excellent that you have proof!

In that case email the following person

how did you guys do the phone swap once you are in the plan? I try to swap old iphone 6+ to new iphone 8+ using the same sim card and it failed. The customer support from that 866 number saying my old sim card working in 6+ is not compatible with 8+ and try to deactive it first then active it on the 8+. I've spent more than 2 hours with them already and still on the phone now..... sigh...
the support person is right. go to an apple store and they will give you the right sim card for iphone 8. the 8 and up uses a different sim model # on sprint (same nano size)

I ordered the iPhone X via Verizon (family member's account) and paid for it in full. I will activate it on Verizon first to ensure it's unlocked (is this step needed?). Then swap back to the old device on Verizon.

Then I plan to call Sprint to ESN swap one line 5 with the iPhone X I ordered from VZW. Can I move the old device (iPhone 7) from L5 to L1 in the same "transaction" or do I need to make that two separate support requests?

Also I'm assuming the iPhone X will use the same SIM as the iPhone 8 which I have a spare one of, so when I call to activate I have to swap both the Phone and SIM for Line 5.

I think I'm beyond help. But I'll ask just in case.

Had my BYOD plan since July 3rd. went to Sam's two weeks ago to get the S7 Edge installment deal. The guy said I can just upgrade my current phone and went through all the way till activation. Had to call someone in Sprint Indian to help with that. Told the Sprint guy if this requires change of plan, don't activate the phone. That guy took no for an Yes and went activate my phone. The sam's guy say his sprint rep can change my plan back and so I got the phone.

Now a weeks later, several calls and chats after, my BYOD plan got changed to Freedom. When I went back to Sam to return the phone, they told me they can't resell the same phone on the spot.

I'd like to keep the phone, and my number. I'm thinking about just pay it off and switch to cricket or something.

Or I can have a family member opens a BYOD account. But not sure I can bring in an existing Sprint number - even if I Port it out first.

Thanks for any help you can give.

For a new/store bough phone, the Moto E4 (I am an Apple & Pixel user, and tried out this phone and found it surprisingly good for the price). It's available @ Best But for last minute shoppers. (Free Sprint Year deal likely ending tomorrow).

So, as far as the Phone # goes, it looks like Sprint is only looking at where it IS, not where it WAS. Good news (but if you had a recent Sprint Account, you'll still likely need a friend/relative to do it, as they will know about your recent account via your SS#.

Does anyone who has been around this deal since the beginning know when they previously extended the offer date (e.g. day before, day of expiration)?

For those last minute SD'ers without alternative/creative solutions who want last minute in on this deal:

1) Go to the Apple Store and request a (free) T-Mobile SIM
2) Go to Best Buy (after checking stock online) and buy an unlocked Moto E4 (you can change phone in the future if you want).
3) Go home, call to activate T-Mobile prepaid and get phone number. Make sure you choose PIN while activating
3) Register for Sprint Free Year using the T-Mobile phone number (account number is same as phone number), and the Moto E4 ESN
4) Enjoy your free year (or give the phone and free year to a needy friend/relative/GF/BF)

There are numerous other ways to do this, but with one day remaining, this is one of the easiest/quickest AND I KNOW IT WORKS AS DESCRIBED!

Don't forget, unless extended, tomorrow is the last day of this offer. You're welcome.

At the end of month for last 3 months it was supposed end. It stills say limited time offer, no end date. Pure speculation, people have had the past 4 months, Let's GO!!
