I'm thinking about activating eligible iPhone and then swapping online, the only problem - have to find one more free Sprint simSmilie
Make sure that you order/get the correct SIM. Sprint SIMs are NOT all the same. See the Wiki, page 1. Also, free SIM available at the Apple Store if you have one nearby.

Question in regards to changing phones...
I enrolled in this FREE plan with a Motorola G5 plus mid August. I am having issues with the phone and would like to return/exchange it at the store and get the same model again. Would this be an issue and can I still keep and be eligible for the FREE plan?
Thanks.
Yes, ESN change is no problem. You can even do it online or through chat.

For those that signed up, activated, and ported numbers completely online, are you required to use the same phones you used to order the SIMs when you subsequently activate service and port in your numbers, or can you use different phones to activate and port (assuming the different phones are on the eligible phone list)?

No need to comment on how it works when you call in. I'm fully aware of that. I'm just curious if the online process is locked to the devices initially used to order the SIMs or whether you can use different phones with those SIMs to actually activate and port in your lines.

Thanks!

Did you do it, or do you have examples you can point to?

Just to clarify, I'm not asking about swapping phones after activating. I know that can be done. I'm asking about signing up online with certain phone numbers and IMEIs, and then after receiving the SIMs in the mail going back online to port in those numbers and activate the free lines using the SIMs received but different IMEI than those you signed up with.

Thanks.

Help! Another question before I start the porting process to get from Sprint (out of contract) to Tmobile to back to Sprint. I have an iPhone 6s with old messages/voicemails that I'd like to save. Will these be lost or will I regain them when I port back into Sprint? Is there anyway to make sure they are not lost?

Don't think there is any way to retain old messages when porting out-in. You will also need to use a different SS# than your old account.

Yes it worked for me. When you get the SIM they ask for the imei of your phone all over again. I think the sign up page is just to save people the hassle if the phone won't be compatible.

So even though eventually I'll be porting back into the exact same Sprint SIM, they'll still be lost? Would icloud back these up? getting conflicted info online.

I have one line with free uear which i added 2 weeks back. If I want to add new lines to take Sprint promotions from best buy will I be able to add new lines ? Some one said they will add new plan. Do they have to run credit check again? Also if I cancel that line after 15 days will that be an issue ?

I think voicemails will be gone (unless you physically record them before porting out). For text messages, see this article: https://ting.com/blog/you-asked-b...-messages/

Great, thanks! I think I'm okay with losing voicemails - it's the text messages I don't want to lose and it seems like icloud will actually back those up for me. Thanks for all of your help!
