Thanks..

Thanks..If I ported to RingTo 2 years ago and haven't done anything with the number, is the number still mine to use? I see all kinds of messages on my account to some other person in the past 2 years..

.
Yes it is still yours. But call it and test it out just out of prudence. If it rings whatever you have it forwarded to, you are golden.

woot Just tested this..I forwarded calls to my landline, then called the landline number from my cell and my landline phone rang..I guess I just have to call Sprint now to get this set up..

To refresh:
1)Call Sprint 1866 number and tell them I want to port to Sprint 1 year free plan.
2)Give them my personal details, phone number I'm porting (tell them it is a Broadband number if asked??,account number on ringto is same 10 digit phone number, pin is last 4 digits of phone number) give Sprint SIM card's ICCID.
3)Should I keep my iphone which has the Sprint sim turned on during this call?

Anything else I'm missing?

Thanks to all of you for the help.

(3) does not matter.
Rest is fine.

"forwarded calls to my landline, then called the landline number from my cell and my landline phone rang.."
should be
"forwarded calls to my landline, then called the ring.to number from my cell and my landline phone rang.."
but that's probably what you meant.

Yeah, even after my chat I still see it on my account though I have not received any charges yet
Make sure your account shows a refund credit of $7.99 for Spending Limit Program Charge. If not, chat again.

someone please guide me - I already had the credit pull but these idiots didn't set up an account even though I'm eligible and cannot find anything in my name..I've given DOB/SSN/Address/name - its the overseas call center - now on 4th all and they keep disconnecting me..If I called in the morning and get a US call center, would they have to run my credit again? How would it affect me? 2 hard pulls from same company? Aren't they supposed to have an application number if there was a hard pull already?

I never had any problems on 3 activations. How do you know it's not your phone that is dropping the calls?

Try calling and get them to call you back before doing anything else.

I was on this landline phone on many calls and never had issues this evening..

Pretty sure its the Indian call center..I can hear a click like as if someone is disconnecting me..and these idiots keep asking me for a phone number (which I don't have yet with Sprint) and they cannot pull me up with my DOB or SSN..My 5th call, the guy just transferred me to some department which isn't open now..They said their credit department isn't open now either..I called the porting department and they cannot setup accounts and kept asking me for an Account number or Sprint number (which I don't have). I gave up..

Maybe I should just try tomorrow in the daytime..but what happens with my credit?

3 different CSR's took down my SSN saying they will try to pull up any info on me and nothing..I'm paranoid now that I gave it to so many people..

Yeah I would definitely leave it till tomorrow.

The credit approval should still be fine.

The phone number they want is the number you are porting in.

I was wondering that too. There should have been no need to transfer the call other than to bring in the Credit Dept..
