If you mean the previous holder of the account on the other carrier, no that does not matter and they do not care.
BUT this has to be brand new SSN on the Sprint side.
You MAY be able to work it out with them on the 8777 number regardless if you have 2 SSN's total as they are anxious to make the sale and are fairly flexible usually. I would just explain the whole thing if there is a problem. I am not sure I understand the whole situation though..

Thank you. My situation would be to get my wife to JOIN Sprint since I have my SSN associated with Sprint's FRAMILY PLAN.

Tello is a Sprint mvno so you are considered to be active with sprint and don't qualify for this deal.
Your phone number will not qualify, you need to port to a non-sprint carrier to have it qualify for this deal.
Your phone will not qualify as it is considered active on sprint. You need to make it inactive by porting out of tello, cancelling account or replacing it with another device. Also Sprint flags phones used on sprint mvno's or pre-paid(PLBL). This flag on the phone needs to be changed to SPCS before being able to qualify for this deal. Literallyunlimited on reddit can change this for you but phone needs to be inactive first.
Is this LiterallyUnlimited user on Reddit? Hasn't responded to my PM. Do you have to start a thread asking him to do it for you or pay him?

I am hoping someone can help. I am currently with AT&T. I would like to get in on this deal but I will be keeping the AT&T as well. Does this free plan require you to port your number?

Also, can I switch between Sprint sim and AT&T sim once the phone is activated with Sprint?

Thanks!

As noted by desi_babu_2010, he does not charge.
It really would be better to contact him on his home base https://www.reddit.com/user/LiterallyUnlimited
but if you do both, be sure to mention that to him so he does not have to do it twice.

He said he is backlogged. Realistically I would give him a few days.

Use private mail not a thread.

You have to port in some number but it does not have to have had any prior association with the phone.

You can switch sims later.

This all assumes your phone has good support for both AT&T and Sprint.

Yes you have to do it that way as you say.
You have to call 866-782-8777 specifically.
You cannot do it online when you are providing your own sim.
I just found out, Apple Store do not offer free sprint sims via phone call to store. I called sprint store and they offer a sprint sim for 10 bucks!

It is over when they stop extending the offer of the plan, which they will not necessarily announce ahead of time. They might give an extra week or whetever after that for orders in progress. I would not chance it by waiting beyond this month.

Did you actually reach the store or some call center?
Well there's probably 100 people on this thread that got them for free that way but believe who you want.
$10 is ok from the Sprint store too.

I got in on the Essential phone with my wife's SERO account. However it needs 50 days to be unlocked even though I had paid off phone and ended the lease.

I am wondering if I can put this Essential phone on my parent's free BYOD acct and add another line to fulfill the 50 days for unlock. Is there a way to add a line without having to go to the store or call? I tried to add a line on my parent's account and it brought me to the new phone section. Anyone know?

Thanks.

I still use a Nexus 6 which should work with any carriers. I guess I can use my Google Voice number to port.
