That is the GSM only iPhone 6. It won't work.
I think that model is a refurbished model(N).
The A1549 should work but no band 41. The A1549 has cdma on all models. The iphone 6 was spec'd as cdma and gsm at launch because Sprint and Verizon would not allow the att and tmobile models on their networks. They do now though.
The problem is either not in sprint database because it is refurbished model or has a PLBL flag.
He should try checking ting byod checker with find my iphone off, to see if passes cdma and gsm.

I think they did make two versions of A1549 with different part numbers. The ones with a 4 on the part numbers are GSM only, and those with a 5 are GSM+CDMA.

Looks like the SIM card from Best Buy doesn't qualify for this promotion. Can someone please advise?
Here is what I got from online chat with Sprint: Since you ordered the SIM card from BestBuy, you can visit the nearest Sprint store to activate the phone as the bring your own device option is available at stores only. You would be required to order a phone online if you do it here.

You cannot do this offer via Chat.
The chat support people are not familiar with it.
You have to call 866-782-8777 only.
The sim is fine and you do not have to buy a phone.
They are talking about other offers.
Do not go to a store as they cannot set it up either.
Just call 866-782-8777 and you will be fine.

You're the expert. I'll defer I just thought the 'n' indicated replacement or refurb from Apple. I just wonder why sprint's byod list includes att, tmobile, and Verizon iPhone 6 and why they would disable the CDMA on the model with 4 on part number. Hopefully he can figure it out and report back on ting(or even Verizon) byod checker.

Worked for me, moved 4 lines from AT&T, follow the Sprint instructions online, once you receive the sim card, CALL THE DEDICATED BYOD free for a year SPRINT NUMBER TO ACTIVATE, 866-782-8777. The online activation will take you through the processes, and it looks like it should work, but it will not. CALL and save yourself some grief. BEWARE, the CS rep will try to HARD sell you phone insurance at $14 per phone per month, they will also try to sell you a new Ipad, don't fall for it.

ALSO, when I ordered the sim cards from Sprint, the did a hard credit check to qualify me before sending the sims. Then the CS rep did ANOTHER hard credit check when activating the service. It took me 2 hours and 3 CS reps to get it done, I got disconnected and had to start over, what a pain, but now that I have the service it is working perfect, AND IT IS FREE FOR A YEAR!!!! You can cancel anytime, no contract, so, besides the time it takes, it is a no-brainer to try this.

Could be two things:

1. Data is not provisioned completely from Sprint side. This usually resolves itself within 48 hours.
2. Data is not provisioned correctly on your phone. This could be incorrect SIM, faulty SIM, or the user profile on your phone is corrupted. Did you see any error message when updating the user profile?

For (2):
a. what is your SIM part number?
b. If SIM part number is correct, do both factory restore and update using iTunes, and then reactivate.
I dont know about SIM part number because in Sprint store they replaced the sim and throw away the card. So I cant tell the SIM part number. Is there a way to tell sim part number from somewhere else? I did factory reset and all those stuff. Sprint has opened a ticket for me.

I haven't seen anyone respond to this unless i missed it. Have you heard anything privately?

When it was extended with getting an extra 3 months I dismissed the extra work required but for an extra 6 I really want to. I'm just wondering if porting out and then signing up online same day with new ssn to get Sim cards shipped is safe. Should I do just 1 or 2 lines to establish an account then add the rest of them through the phone number or should I just do them all at the same time through the online application.

I wish someone had something to share about porting out and back in.

That is most likely the FED flag. Check the IMEI on Ting BYOD , Swappa, and Tello BYOD, and report back the messages you see.
I got the same problem when checking my Moto X Pure: "Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device. Sign in to find this device on your account.". My phone passes the checks on Ting, Swappa, and Tello. Can you help ? Thanks

Did this promotion and brought my iPhone 6 over from cricket . Problem is, my iPhone is on its last legs. It's barely functioning at this point . If i go buy an unlocked iPhone directly from Apple and pop the sim in will It work or will sprint somehow know and I'll lose out on the free promotion ? I asked the sprint rep if i could get a new phone and he said "you can upgrade after 4 months but you would lose the free promotion and go into a regular plan". Didn't want to ask him about going out and buying a phone from someone else and using it.

Thanks.
