Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes you can see it by going to "Activate a New Sim Card" under "More Options" (and then backing out of course).

I just verified on mine.

Does anyone know if one can use a Sprint iPhone 7 that's been unlocked? I know it only says iPhone 7 (Verizon only), but I have this plan with an Essential phone and am thinking of moving back to iOS. Wondering if I have to limit my searches to Verizon only iPhone 7s. Thanks!

You definitely can. The list is only of non-Spint devices but you can activate any free and clear Sprint postpaid device. I have 3 activated.

If it was on a Sprint MVNO an additional step may be needed.

The phone is unlocked. I bought new from cricket and requested the unlock myself. A day later when connected to pc iTunes I get the "congratulations your phone is now unlocked" message. I tried service with both T-Mobile and AT&T with no problem. Also the Sprint tech verified the phone is unlocked and eligible for BYOD. We can physically see the phone's imei, sim id, and phone number paired on my Sprint account and active. Only problem is no service.
By the way I still think you should get the GSX report if other approaches do not avail as there might still be a subsidy lock even though the carrier lock has been removed.

Also I think other people had issues coming from Cricket also. I cannot remember the details. I would wait a day and see if they post.

Simple question:

I am already a Sprint customer.

I have another line which is currently with Verizon (this number and phone have never been anywhere but Verizon).

Can I port that phone/number in under this deal, or does the fact I'm already a Sprint customer (different phone/number) disqualify me?

And if I can get this deal, will they roll my new phone into my agreement with Sprint, or will it be a separate account?

I guess that's two simple questions :-)

Free service is for new customers who haven't been on Sprint for past 45 days -- can't add free service to existing paid account

If you have a household member without Sprint service then you can port out and back in by having them sign up for free service under their name (they have to do a credit check)

I tried to sign up online. It was fine till credit check. Said I had to call. Rep was nice and said had to do credit check. Fine qualified for 5 lines.

Said I would be charged $13,for insurance but could cancel after number ported over and account was set up??? Never heard of this. Tried to refuse it. No dice

Rep said my purchased sim was good but to not put it in for 30 minutes.

Set up auto pay and pin.

Said there is an iPad unlimited plan for $10 with autopay. I gave to wait till phone ports over?

Does this sound legit?

That's fine. Just call customer service now and cancel the insurance and the tablet plan if he ordered that (ask) so that it does not have to be credited back. The sooner the better - you can also do it later but if you do it same day it simpifies the billing. Neither is required. Neither is a good deal (the tablet plan is a 24 month deal that balloons later) and everybody refuses them or cancels them if they do get added. You are allowed to cancel them as he probably told you.

You actually can tell them NO during the call (I did 3 times) but not everybody finds it easy to be firm so just cancelling the upsells right after is fine. Many many here have done it and it does not cause any problems.

You right. It should be. Tablets and hotspot device are not allowed.
I guess they thought BYOD was better known as an abbreviation and they have other BYOD programs that do not exclude tablets and portable hotspot devices so they saved on internal duplication under different names..

There is no such offer that I am aware of and there is nothing like that on Sprint's list of offers. I think she is badly confused and just guessing (wrongly) at to what the terms of the tablet offer are.

I would not use these sales people as the source of any information or advice unless or until it is published here.

Ok good.

Has tech. support re-provisioned the phone from scratch?

If not, I would call and ask them to re-provision it. (Effectively take it off Sprint and put it back on again). Often this will cure problems.

There is always the possibility that the phone antenna is damaged or defective internally. You could tell Apple it "obviously" is if it is under warranty. The antennas are used differently on Sprint's bands than on other carriers so the problem might only show up on Sprint.
