Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Ok good.

Has tech. support re-provisioned the phone from scratch?

If not, I would call and ask them to re-provision it. (Effectively take it off Sprint and put it back on again). Often this will cure problems.

There is always the possibility that the phone antenna is damaged or defective internally. You could tell Apple it "obviously" is if it is under warranty. The antennas are used differently on Sprint's bands than on other carriers so the problem might only show up on Sprint.
Not sure if they did that. They took my phone for about 25 minutes when I was at the store. At the end they just gave up.

Thanks for taking to time to help us on this thread, really appreciate it.

They might not have tried re-provisioning it yet. Just swapping sims etc. does not do that.

Tech. support can do it for you in a minute.

The stores are not necessarily the experts one might hope.

Mainly they catch obvious physical things but not necessarily less obvious things.

The phone is unlocked. I bought new from cricket and requested the unlock myself. A day later when connected to pc iTunes I get the "congratulations your phone is now unlocked" message. I tried service with both T-Mobile and AT&T with no problem. Also the Sprint tech verified the phone is unlocked and eligible for BYOD. We can physically see the phone's imei, sim id, and phone number paired on my Sprint account and active. Only problem is no service.
1. what is the history of your iPhone SE?
2. what is the history of your BYOD free line?

I tried to sign up online. It was fine till credit check. Said I had to call. Rep was nice and said had to do credit check. Fine qualified for 5 lines.

Said I would be charged $13,for insurance but could cancel after number ported over and account was set up??? Never heard of this. Tried to refuse it. No dice

Rep said my purchased sim was good but to not put it in for 30 minutes.

Set up auto pay and pin.

Said there is an iPad unlimited plan for $10 with autopay. I gave to wait till phone ports over?

Does this sound legit?
That iPad plan is available as add-on for select postpaid customers with iPad purchase. Let us know if you are able to add it to your BYOD free line with no iPad purchase. It's a pretty good deal if no iPad purchase is required Big Grin

IPhone se is from cricket wireless. Bought it last week with an unlimited data plan which allows me to get the phone unlocked. Unlocked was confirm on pc with iTunes.
Free line is from Google voice. Ported 3 lines over. 2 lines have no problem with service (galaxy, iPhone 6s). I can see all 3 lines on my Sprint account with the correct imei, iccid, and phone number. According to Sprint all lines look correct and are active.

I have a unlocked iphone 7 plus - sprint online says the IMEI and number combo is valid. This is a tmobile prepaid account. Will I be able to get this over to sprint (port the number) without trouble?

Any help is highly appreciated. I am coming in late here and try to search and find info but didn't get a clear picture. Since I have 2 prepaid accounts at home, this could be an awesome savings provided porting works fine.

Sure. TMO/VZW/ATT prepaid or postpaid numbers are all fine. They even accept VOIP numbers (FreedomPop, Google Voice etc.)

I saw this when trying to change service online. See screenshot below

I called back after my phone activated on sprint. Rep said I can bring my iPad Pro for $10 with autopay. There is a credit for autopay. I need to get a SIM card and rep is calling me back tomorrow afternoon.

Weird thing. I shared data with my Verizon phone plan for $10. Each device had a phone number. Immediately after phone ported over I wad bounced from My Verizon app, all my info was deleted. But the iPad is still showing Verizon service. I tried to call Verizon to find out what plan they bumped me to after I ported phone to sprint but there was a super long hold time and I hung up. Dinner was ready.

If I can swing this iPad it will be a double slick deal. I will wait and make sure my billing for both phone and pad are indeed the free service deal plus the small fees.

No one has mentioned that phone insurance plan they made me sign up for. I tried to cancel it with rep and he said it was a different department. I am calling again now

1. what is the part number MxxxxxLL/A of the iPhone SE as printed on the box or found under the iPhone SE settings?
2. what is the part number of the SIM card?

Thanks for the info. iPad lines have phone numbers assigned because data is provisioned with a MDN/MIN on all tablet lines. Did you port over the iPad line or the phone line from Verizon?

I did reply in my initial comment. Maybe you did not see it because I added it politely as a follow up to another user's comment to you. I suppose I should have just quoted you directly.

Here is what I wrote:

Quote :
That's fine. Just call customer service now and cancel the insurance and the tablet plan if he ordered that (ask) so that it does not have to be credited back. The sooner the better - you can also do it later but if you do it same day it simpifies the billing. Neither is required. Neither is a good deal (the tablet plan is a 24 month deal that balloons later) and everybody refuses them or cancels them if they do get added. You are allowed to cancel them as he probably told you.

You actually can tell them NO during the call (I did 3 times) but not everybody finds it easy to be firm so just cancelling the upsells right after is fine. Many many here have done it and it does not cause any problems.
I suggested calling Customer Service to cancel, NOT the Telesales number, as you have since re-confirmed is necessary.

The iPad deal is just confusion on the part of the rep. in my opinion and you could run the risk of being billed or shipped a tablet if you leave it. They do not honor mistakes by their reps. It is up to you if you want to take the risk, of course. But most likely all of this will become apparent anyway when you talk to them.

I did mention the phone insurance plan before, the rep lie to me said buying the insurance plan will make the process faster. The whole process was a mess, the mess up the plan and sign me up for a regular plan and charge me $60 per month.

Just make sure the iPhone 7 plus is the A1661 model with the Qualcomm chip for cdma and gsm. I would think you do have it if it passes the imei checker.

I ordered 2 SIM cards on the Sprint promotional website for this deal. They arrived. I've tried to activate them online and at a store (spent almost an hour there). I was told I needed an account, and they couldn't find mine even with my full SSN, order #, IMEI of the two phones I entered during the SIM-ordering process, etc. I then did an online chat. Each of the three Sprint agents I chatted with told me the next agent would create an account and then activate the SIM for me. None did. All just couldn't transfer me away fast enough. I've used mobile phones in the US for more than 15 years. Never did I have such frustrating experience. I just want a full refund and be done with Sprint for good.

I signed up with Sprint today over the phone with an unlocked Moto E4. I bought a Boost SIM kit from Best Buy as recommended in the Wiki. I had a spare Ting SIM laying around and some credit, so I used that to get a number to port in. Ting's website is great - they have an easy-to-read page for port out info. I had an active number there for all of about two hours today. Never even removed the Ting SIM from its card or put it in my phone.

Then I called Sprint - someone answered immediately. She had clearly done a lot of these sign-ups. I spent 57 minutes on the phone with her, and that included pretty much everything I expected. Halfway through she conferenced in a credit verification specialist. Because I have a credit fraud alert set on my credit reports, I worried that this would cause them problems, but that was required was for the credit specialist to call me on the other line on the number I had included for credit verification. Very easy.

The only hitch was in the porting from Ting. I read the agent the account number and six digit PIN from Ting's website. She said that must be wrong - it's usually a four digit PIN. At that same moment, I got an email from Ting mentioning port out and giving me a temporary four digit PIN. That must be it - somehow! So that's what I gave her.

I was using a different SIM anyway on the phone so I didn't even bother trying the Sprint/Boost Mobile SIM right away. An hour after my first call, I got another call from a Sprint agent saying they were having porting issues - could I give them my info again? I gave this agent the original six digit PIN plus the last four of SSN and this time porting went through immediately. Not sure why the first agent screwed it up - I guess she had never seen a six digit PIN before, and she had my SSN already...

I still didn't even turn the phone on til hours later with the new SIM, but it worked immediately. One test call worked. Then I got a call on my new number from another Sprint agent, confirming that the port had indeed worked. Yes, you called me on my Sprint SIM and phone so it must work, thanks!

So far, biggest disappointment is slow data speed. I'm getting LTE but download speed varies from about 3Mbps to 8Mbps with lousy pings. I had just had a Republic Wireless (T-Mobile) SIM in the same phone a few minutes earlier and was getting about 20Mbps. OK, so maybe my Sprint coverage right were I live isn't ideal. Or maybe their network isn't as fast as T-Mobile's. I'll find out in the next few days as I try the phone out when out and about. Maybe I shouldn't complain about speed for the price of this deal - but there's no way I''d pay full price for this data speed!

Have you tried calling 866-782-8777? I've activated two lines successfully through the reps from that number without a hitch.
