Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

You do not necesarily have to move the phone before porting, just the number (could be to a dummy IMEI).
However you will have to get the MVNO flag flipped in the Sprint database. Ting can do that.

Also separately you need to be a new Sprint customer (or at least a new SSN).
I see you're still up also. I see that Sprint did extend this to Apr 30. I wonder if I call them tomorrow if they'll extend my plan to Apr 30, 2019 since their salesperson told me it was not going to be extended?

Everybody should be happy now, the new folks just getting into this free plan as well as those who got into this last summer/fall who may be able to port out of their current free Sprint plan in the next month or so and open new free accounts at least 45 days later as new customers.
OR use a family member's SS # to open a new account now and get the full 15 month benefit!

This also seems like a good opportunity to bring back to Sprint all those locked Sprint Essential Phones, wait a couple of months and get them permanently unlocked.

They'll claim that what they meant was that it was not yet *announced* to be extended, and that that's all they are allowed to give out, but heck, you can try anything.

Who knows, it may be easy for them to adjust the date.

I myself was considering another gamey strategy of, in my case, starting a new account request online just before month end, and then stalling on it as long as necessary if need be to get to 45 days (or 45 - 30 days). But now that should not be needed as it turned out.

That message actually means you will need to get the ownership flag flipped to SPCS before it will be eligible (search on LiterallyUnlimited). Also it will have to be off FreedomPop before you can activate it..

I spoke with a rep this morning at the 8777 number in an attempt to extend my current promotion. They said the length of the promotion is still only for one year (so assuming I opened a new line today, it would expire in February of 2019, and not April of 2019).

The wording is UNTIL and THEN you get charged the regular price:

Savings until 4/30/19; then $60/mo. for line 1, $40/mo. for line 2 & $30/mo./line for lines 3-5. Reqs. AutoPay (discount applied w/in 2 invoices), new account, bring your own eligible device & Sprint SIM card. Savings claim compared to Verizon Go Unlimited rate plan for 1 line as of 8/23/17. Data deprioritization during congestion. Other monthly charges apply.

BUT it also says:

Get Unlimited data, talk & text free for 1 year.

So, take your pick!

But based on the small print above I'd pick that!

It would be easier to say open your account by 4/30/2018 and you get your next 12 months free, but it doesn't.

Does anyone know if you add a line, do you get one year free from the date of the add, or from when the first BYOD line was opened (many months ago)?
