Any idea how long it takes for sprint database to update? I messaged my IMEI to LiterallyUnlimited and he took care of it for me this morning but 12 hours later the sprint site still says blah blah records show sprint is owed. IMEI works fine on the Ting BYOD checker and whatnot

I do not remember if you posted your details. It will not fix it if it is a Sprint Prepaid Phone. It only works for free and clear postpaid-origin and some universal phones.

I've been eying this deal for months but had to wait till my 1 year Mint Sim plan was about to expire. Had to jump through some hoops as I had my MOTO G4 which was at one time on Ring Plus fail the device checker and then created a Reddit account to ask Literally Unlimited if he could help. He was gracious enough and fixed the flag. Then when I tried to sign up online, it told me that I had to call Sprint to complete the transaction. The first Customer Service guy took all my info and then conferenced me with someone from the Sprint Credit department to verify my identity which I did. He then told me he had to manually create my account which would take about 50 minutes and he would call me back when he did. When I didn't hear from him after 4 hours, I called back and spoke to another Sprint CS agent. I had to repeat the entire process all over again, including being conferenced in with the Sprint Credit Dept. as if I was starting all over.

Anyway, after a lot of hassle, everything is great and I just can't believe I'm actually getting unlimited service for free! Data speed, voice quality is fine. The CS agent did tell me that the deal was good for me until 4/30/19. Since I just started my account, any way to know exactly how much I will pay in Taxes & Fees on my first bill as I don't see it specified anywhere yet on my account online?

Thanks to the 2 OP's for the deal.

yeah my bad I should have mentioned details. It's a Samsung-unlocked Galaxy S8 that was used briefly on Tello and then device-swapped out; and then I had the flag flip on reddit this morning. thank you for help

THANK YOU both very much for your help tonight. I got my S8+ to work after updating it to the latest Verizon firmware. Sure enough, it's now much smarter and was able to automatically detect and switch to Sprint - I get Sprint splash screen (never thought I would be so happy to see that, LOL), and all is great - LTE and Wifi-calling, etc. Everything just works.

You guys are geniuses. Thanks a million!

Thanks. It should have worked right away.
I would check again with LiterallyUnlimited but out of courtesy to him maybe leave it until sometime tomorrow .....

Guys..

I have an old Kyocera CDMA phone which was originally Freedompop, I think 1-2years ago...
then used it for some time with ringplus..
When I am checking eligibility on Sprint 1year website then it shows:
Quote :
"Sorry, but our records show you still owe Sprint for this device. Sign in to find this device on your account."
and Sprint Customer care saying its boost device or non-sprint device...
When I check byod on Tell or Ting then it is showing as Compatible...

So my question is as it was never activated with Sprint or Boost then why will sprint say that I still owe something?
and Can I activate it on Sprint or not?

Since it was originally FreedomPop you will have to get FreedomPop to unlock it first. They have their rules involving 6 month periods etc that you will have to contact them to get details about.

(They reuse that error message wording for a whole bunch of different cases related to locks from themselves and/or other carriers and it is mislreading in many cases).

Let me phrase it carefully for you:
If you sign up now, you will free (plus taxes) service until April 30, 2019.

Yes those devices will work.

It would be better to flash the S8+ back to Verizon stock and apply all OTA updates before inserting a Sprint sim.

Otherwise you will not get the full Sprint feature set including Visual Voicemail and LTE Calling beta etc.
The BRANDED S8/8+ models now SWITCH BRAND dynamically to whatever sim you put in and give you all features.

If you use the unbranded firmware, you get a neutral and neutered experience on all of them that lacks all the features on any one. This firmware will work minimally work on all carriers, but does not support Brand switching to get the full feature sets.

thanks but if it would have been locked then i would have been not able to use it with Ringplus later.. and also Tello/Ting BYOD checker would have not shown compatible... Isn't it?
could it be PLBL to SPCS flag problem here?

Needs to be spcs to work on sprint postpaid. When I signed up for ting numbers, it's good for ting but not sprint. I called Ting and had them switch back to spcs.

You can try asking LiterallyUnlimited to reset that flag, yes.
That is the error message that you get in that circumstance.
It should fix it if the problem was the time on RingPlus/Tello/Ting rather than a lock from FP.
Sprint is stricter than Ting, Tello etc. however, so not all of what you reason is true but some is so give it a try.
If it still does not work after that, it is likely an FP lock.
Part of the reason I suggested FP is that they would release all of the locks so you could do it all in one go.
Also LiterallyUnlimited may refuse to do it if he sees it is an FP device.

thanks i understand..
I got confirmation from LU.. and like customer agent he told phone is being shown as Boost in system and flag is already SPCS.. i am confused how it is Boost when it was originally freedompop and then ringplus only
