Anyone have or know if the free Hulu can be had the BYOD free plan?

Nvm --- Just found out via Chat support that the BYOD plan is not eligible. Was worth a shot. It appears as a $0 add on in MySprint, but it doesn't process when trying to add it.

My wife was on this plan for about a month. We live in Altoona Iowa and she would lose service basically all over town. In the supermarket, in the gym, basically any store. I'd also try to call her and could barely understand anything she said. With no WIFI calling on the Google Pixel, and no voLTE, the quality was just terrible. It reminded me when I had sprint a few years ago and would just randomly drop calls all over town. It's sad to see the coverage hasn't improved at all in my area.

Just initiated a port out. Free service is no good if the service is unusable. If you have good Sprint coverage in your area, then it's a great deal. We sure had a terrible experience.

LTE Calling Beta is available on the S8 Sprint ROM.

If you have the Verizon, TMO, or AT&T model, it should switch automatically to the Sprint configuration if you are up to date on OTA updates. Then you would also have Sprint LTE Calling Beta.

If you have the unbranded ROM, you are out of luck (and get no Visual Voicemail either) so I would suggest flashing to the Sprint (or other branded) ROM if you are comfortable doing that.

Those of you who signed up recently, were you told by the rep that your plan is only good for 12 months, and not until 4/30/2019 as the Sprint web site states.

People have reported that reps. said that.
https://slickdeals.net/f/10235008-sprint-byod-1-year-unlimited-talk-text-data-free-w-eligible-device-sim-req?p=112610407#post112610407

but that the reps. were wrong (as they often are). I think some of the the reps are borderline literate and just read the web page title (which says "one year free") and didn't read the fine print.

I am assuming you meant the instructions on the WIKI below? I did that with the only difference is that I deleted all the APN's and then just switched back my Sprint SIM and it now has LTE. Also don't forget to make sure you switch to LTE as your preferred Network on your carrier settings on the phone. Also update your PRL and device config on your carrier settings

Possible Solution for Moto G4 No LTE issues
I got my Moto G4 activated but can not get LTE. I saw purplesabrer's solution for Moto G4 Play but it does not work for Moto G4 as he said. Finally, I got my Moto G4 work after some tries. The key is to set the correct Sprint APN for Moto G4.

Here are my procedures:
1. Remove the Sprint SIM card and insert any GSM SIM card (T-Mobile, ATT or FreedomPop)
2. Go to Settings - More - Cellular networks - Carrier settings, you will see APN there!
3. Click APN then delete all the APNs already in the page.
4. Click the "+" button to add a Sprint APN ( APN: cinet.spcs), then save it.
5. Choose the Sprint APN and leave settings.
6. Remove the GSM SIM and insert the Sprint SIM.
7. Drink a cup of coffee then enjoy the LTE.
Tried that - no joy

Call and ask if you will be charged a $25 a month subsidized phone charge. Some people in this thread and elsewhere gave been charged this when coming off a 2 year contract.

See e,g. https://community.sprint.com/t5/B...d-p/947774

It is one of the most obscene charges ever invented but they actually do have the nerve to charge it. Basically, Sprint's theory is that the original deal was based on continuing to pay $25 a month on old-style accounts in the form of higher built-in plan prices, even after you "pay off" the phone, and that that fee has to move with the phone if you move it to a new account with lower plan prices.
the post was from over 1 year ago.

my understanding of the situation is as follows:

IIRC, it was around that time when sprint was transitioning away from the 2 year contract phones (2YC)

back then, u would get a cheap/free phone with a 2YC, and had to pay a "higher" monthly plan

after the transition

u had to pay for phone, no contract and the monthly fee for "equivalent" plan was less

issue was in that transition, some plans (mostly family) had phones in 2 YC and some off contract.
the users then would like to go to these cheaper equivalent plans (now with unlim t/t )
to mange this issue, sprint was assessing this $25 a month subsidized phone charge

now, all that is behind us, there shouldn't be this charge

unless, u go to apple, get a phone with 2YC, while u are on this cheaper equivalent plans
