What is the best fastest service to port in from? I was given an android note phone that was used by another sprint member with another phone number.
This was just discussed yesterday and the day before at length in several posts so if you just scroll back or check the wiki you will see a long discussion of using Google Voice, H2O etc.

You may have some issues at first activating the Sprint Note phone initially but, if so, it is normal and just post them here and there will be bypasses. First test the IMEI and a phone number at https://www.sprint.com/en/shop/br...phone=byod now and see exactly what it says. Do not worry if it says "no" at first.

my 2 lines comes out to like 9.xx a month, which includes a $5 administration fee- which is bogus. But oh well.

Has anyone changed phones within that 120 day period? I was told if I change the IMEI i'll lose the plan.
Promo terms mention $2.50 admin fee + $0.40 reg fee so that's $2.90/mo each line plus local taxes/fees

** Mo. charges excl. taxes & Sprint Surcharges [incl. USF charge of up to 19.5% (varies quarterly), up to $2.50 Admin. & 40¢ Reg. /line/mo.) & fees by area (approx. 5–20%)]. Surcharges are not taxes. See sprint.com/taxesandfees

You can't "upgrade" your device from Sprint but you can buy another phone on your own then "device swap" without a problem -- make sure you get a compatible SIM part number for the new phone

Ah thanks. I asked a rep if an IMEI swap is considered an upgrade and i got a nonsense answer.

So she definitely said you can't swap.

Its right on the promo page -- FAQs on bottom: https://www.sprint.com/1yearfree

What happens if I lose or break my own phone and don't have replacement insurance?
If the phone you bring to Sprint through the Unlimited - Bring Your Phone promotion is lost or breaks, you have options that allow you to keep your first year of free service:
- You can purchase a Sprint phone at full manufacturer's retail price, or
- Swap out a different eligible phone although a new Sprint SIM may be required

Plenty of people have done it including me -- you can just do a regular online chat with CS and tell them to device swap (give new phone MEID/IMEI and compatible SIM ICCID)

I swapped phones, both of which I bought used not from Sprint, a few days after signing up and nothing changed about my free plan.

I'm pretty sure this 120 day policy is about acquiring a phone from Sprint, not swapping your own phones.

Yes the 120 day policy is only for upgrading not for swapping. Most people here are confused between upgrading and swapping. I am on the free year plan since June. Have swapped 4 phones so far on my line without any issues.

Yes I thought we had seen some people activating Cricket S8's ok on Sprint.

Well there are different routes people take but personally I would start with Telesales at 866-782-8777 and explain the situation. They have the most motivation to sign you up. They would have to escalate it internally. It may or may not go well.

You could also call Samsung support and ask them to fix it since they provide the imei's to Sprint so you could treat it as a manufacturing defect. They might liaise with Sprint for you.

I'm a bit confused about Sprint billing since I assumed they bill once every month on the nose. So I started Sprint service on 2/26. My first bill was $4.25 which was due and completed by autopay on 3/21. My next bill due is for $0 and scheduled due date is 4/18. So the dates are confusing for me as it's not exactly once a month or 30 days. Secondly, I'm curious why the 4/18 date for this period has $0 due. (not that I'm complaining)

Well, after being off Sprint for 45 days so that I could renroll as a new customer and get a new full year, I just re-enrolled with a new account and ported back in and have 13 months free ahead of me.

I was fully up-front right from the start of the call and that worked well. I gave him my old account number and password and all details.

He said he would have to check whether to reopen the old account or start a new one, but not to worry, he said, I would get a new full 12 months either way (actually 13 by the way). He called the credit department and they told him to open a new account, so we went through the usual credit check and 4 or so identity test questions. They were asking the year of a car I owned a long time ago and I barely passed but I was lucky and passed. I think thecredit rep. was trying to drop friendly hints by the way he read the choices.

The sales rep. mentioned the insurance but only after saying "it is optional if course" right at the start and I declined no problem. (I think you get better support when you call in the daytime).

So everything worked out! I was back on immediately. My number port-in from Tetik happened instantly (as it should have because Teltik is a TMobile buiness reseller not an MVNO.).

P.S. There may not be enough time left for others to replicate this if using the same SSN, since they could cut off the offer by end of April or earlier. If you can use a different SSN, there is no problem. You do of course have to port out and back in.

Are you sure you are referring to admin fee? $5 flat fee is charged for the line if you have not enabled autopay

P.S. I honestly do not know if the full 45 days away from Sprint was absolutely necessary - it may or may not be. Someone posted they did not wait that long but I do not know. I decided to play it by the book for safety. It is at least supposed to be 45 days. If it is necessary, then there may not be enough time left for others to replicate this if using the same SSN (since they could cut off the offer by end of April or earlier). If you can use a different SSN, there is no problem. You do of course have to port out and back in.
Nicely done. Fwiw I did jump the gun by two days and no go. (Yes simple math eludes me).
As usual Sprint reps were very patient and helpful.
I have an application number now for call back in two days.
