Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

I've got a s9. According to their map I've got 4G LTE excellent signal. According to this thread I'm using the correct sim (506TQ) from the boostmobile sim pack from bestbuy. Beyond that I dunno heh heh <_<;
The SIM cards SIMOLW406TQ and SIMOLW506TQ will both work. The 506TQ is the BYOD kit equivalent(isim v2) while the 406TQ(would come with sprint version of phone) is not from BYOD kit..
If you are not getting LTE try reset carrier settings then update profile.and prl.

In the order you suggested I reset carrier settings, updated profile and prl. Restarted the phone again just in case and did a speedtest. I got up to 5mbps down once. Every other time is back below 1mbps. Notification bar says LTE and did so before all the resetting updating etc. I wonder else I can try D:

Unfortunately you may be in an area with poor sprint or high congestion. You can try looking at open signal for real life sprint coverage. To see what that shows.

I just got my new phone today (moto g5 plus), if I put in my EMEI and phone number today am I locked into the deal immediately? Or do I need to wait for the sim card to arrive and activate before I'm locked into the free year? I'm just worried that if the deal is indeed ending today that I'll miss out on it waiting for the sim card from sprint.

Interesting. Where I am is one of those no data available spots but I do see good green nearby. I'll go a drive and report back. Fingers crossed >___<

update: Yeah for the most part I'm getting the same numbers below 1mbps. There was one crazy spot that jumped to 31.6 but I was unable to replicate it in that same spot.

For adding a new line an existing account, do we need to call in? How about doing it online or at the store?

I thought FP number is not eligible for this deal correct since it is basically Sprint?

Call in to add additional lines. You can not do it online. If you do at at a store they will quite likely make it a paid line. This offer is click or call only.

FP numbers are VOIP numbers of Bandwidth.com and other local carriers so they are in fact eligible usually. (FP hooks them up to different hidden Sprint numbers that you do not see).

Have you tried changing the default network settings? Maybe toggle between them. Is there a " global" option ?

1. Make sure the S9 has the latest Android 8.1.0 version, not just 8.0.
2. Make sure your S9 has the latest Google Carrier Services version appropriate for the phone. Google carrier services, is in Google Play. It's supposed to help carriers provide mobile services using the latest networking capabilities.
There are different variants and your S9 should have the correct one:

https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/goo...ervices-2/

3. Install the LTE discovery app from Google Play and fool around with it a bit and see what bands are in your area and what your reception is like. Sprint band 41 is the fastest but bands 25 and 26 are not bad either.
4. It may just be that you area is very congested as another person said and with not many cell towers. Try in another location, maybe another town/city to test.
5. If the S9 has advanced network settings that allow you to choose a preferred network type try LTE/CDMA instead of automatic or something else and see if it gets better.

In my area I get relatively low LTE speeds in my house +/- 5-7Mbps up/down with bands 25/26, but a couple of blocks away in an open park it goes to 30-40+Mbps with band 41.
Bands 25/26 can also get that high in a good and not congested reception area.
Band 41 can go even higher.

Yes many are. Consensus is that you must Port out for 45 days to erase your account and re-start.
Promotion will most likely be gone by that time. So, Port out numbers to any GSM network. Have a relative open a BYOD account under a different SS#.
Port back in your lines under that new account.
Times -a- wasting. Get crackin'
If I dont care about the number, cancelling the account will free up my phone to sign up again rightaway? Or they disallow 'phone' for a certain period?

For the people interested about re-doing this promotion, here is what i did. hope it helps:

1. pay $20 at google voice to have the number port out from sprint. (you will need account number in your bill, and pin) and wait for 24hrs to have the number ported.
2. once the number is shown in GV, unlock the number here (https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/unlock), and set up your voice mail pin (it required for port out).
3. once it is port out from sprint, your device are no longer on sprint network, so you should be able to see the device and number become eligible again.
4. call that 8777 number, and have the line added or apply a new account under another ssn. Also the sim card does not need to be changed, you can use the previous sim card.

If you do it now, the account is shown promotion end 4/30/19. so you dont have to wait till end of this month.

Please note, Do not port your number to the provider use the sprint service such as TPO...it is consider a migration, and not eligible for this 1 yr promotion.

For the people have a separate phone, you can pay $3 to unlock GV number and it will qualify for the new account if that phone is released in sprint network already.
How long does it take before sprint releases the phone from it network to be resued on this deal again?

When the port out is done, it's released. You should be able to confirm that on the eligibility check page.
