Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

A long shot but Did you try going into default applications to maybe change there.
Thanks for the response. Yep, that was one of the first things I tried. There was only one option there, "contacts." After installing a 3rd party dialer called "Simple Dialer" that option got added. I selected it, but I'm still presented with the GV error message on all outgoing calls. Incoming calls go to my Sprint VM box. I thought I was making progress. I updated Hangouts, and in the new version, if you click on disable under Settings --> Application Manager --> Hangouts, it prompts if you want to restore the native dialer. So I click hell yes, but... it has no effect. Such. A. Tease.

Edit: OK I figured it out. It's not a Hangouts or Hangouts Dialer problem. It's a Google Voice problem. I uninstalled the Google Voice app and received immediate satisfaction. I struggled to find the GV icon. I had to go to the play store and uninstall it from the GV page. Maybe there was a setting inside Google Voice that allowed me to restore the native dialer without uninstalling it altogether. I'll probably have to re-install GV at some point in time, but for now, I'm in! woot

I'm sooo going to miss my chubby little soap-bar phone, the HTC Touch Pro 2 -- the one that I had to jiggle the mini-USB cable in exactly a certain way in order for it to charge -- or connect via PDAnet (which stopped working after Windows 7 anyway, so I had to fire up a Win7 VM any time I wanted to thether). It was the most amazing phone available in the year 2009. Thanks to the slider keyboard, it was a text-messaging demon back in its day. It kind of still is. Sadbye

Ha! I did that too. Froyo was sweet! But the battery life was just over three hours because of the OC necessary to run it. The kicker was that the battery guage was completely useless so you never had any real idea when you were about to become stranded without service. Fortunately, this was still back in the day of user-replaceble batteries. I also ran into to problems with data corruption since I only ever ran it off of micro-sd cards.

how long is this deal going through?
People who signed up earlier get whatever end-of-savings date was in effect at the time they joined (which was usually 12 to 15 months out from their signup date).

The very first such end-of-savings date was June 30 2018 (I checked) and you mist have been part pf that.

People joining right now get an end-of-savings date of May 31, 2019.

On the other hand, the last date to join in the first place is not announced ahead but may be May 31, 2018, or conceivably April 30, 2018 or some other as-yet unannounced date.

If it ends up being May 31,2018 (there is no way to tell ahead of time), then people do now (barely) have the 45 days to quit Sprint right now and rejoin 45 days later as a new customer and sign up over again under the same SSN. Better not to chance it, and use a family member's SSN instead since that does not require you to be off Sprint for 45 days.

I bought a TMobile Prepaid "number for port" on Ebay for under $5 and ported it into Sprint with no real problem a week or two ago. You can see these on EBay by searching "number for port"

They give you a 6 digit pin. Sprint thinks TMobile Prepaid would usually have a 4 digit pin. When they ask you if this is the pin you use to access your account, this is a trick question. You need to say no, it is a special port pin (which it is). Otherwise Sprint will say it could not possibly be correct.
Can i buy a "number for port" from ebay like that to open a new account, then port my current phones and numbers in? Do i need an extra phone?

I am not sure why you would need an extra number in that case. You do not need a number for port if your already have phones and numbers that you would like to port in (even if they were previously ported out of Sprint to TMobile). You just port in the number and phone at the same time.

I may be missing your point.

I have 2 numbers, sims and phones already on this deal. I want to open a new account first, then port the 2 numbers over. I'm worried about some glitch or problem coming up, so i want to open the acct first then port my 2 lines out and back in. I dont mind 3 lines.

Oh I see. Then sure, you can do that. You would need a third phone though. Try for a piece of broken Sprint junk off EBay but make sure (1) it is Postpaid (2) it was never on an mvno or it it was then you will have to get LiterallyUnlimited to push it back to Postpaid. You can buy Dura XT for $13 on EBay. Also you will have to phone in to activate it.

Or you could even just buy an MEID/IMEI. Or use a friend's off their universal phone.

It gets sort of complicated so I would rather not get into all the ins and outs about buying phones on Ebay (which can go wrong too) but suffice it to say there are cheap phones out there that would work. You may have other alternatives.

Some people who placed web-based orders have had their orders lost like that.
You'll have to call 866-782-8777 . If they cannot find it either they can do it for you but they may have to reenter everything from scratch.

It is another reason not to use the web form and to call instead.
