Guess they are finally valuing their service quality at zero dollars!! Having unfortunate experience of being a sprint customer, I wholeheartedly concur with the valuation of their service.

Hi! I have ten specific questions that only pertain to my individual circumstances. I epitomize laziness and my sense of entitlement is impervious to reason. Therefore it is the responsibility of anyone and everyone who reads this to find the answers to my questions.

Yes, I'd probably estimate 90% confidence that you'll still be able to port in lines to an already established BYOD 1 year free unlimited plan after 5/17, and 95%+ confidence that they'll honor the full 1 year for everyone who is already active on the free plan, regardless of merger talks and preparation, etc. The plan terms state you can add a line any time (up to the limit) and indicate a specific "savings until" date.
The one small caveat is, *IF* they decide to change the terms after the fact then all bets are off. Most people think they won't do that because they'd basically be dumping customers straight to other carriers. Not many would stick around with a carrier that won't even honor their agreements. Also note (as mentioned in your linked post) that they could possibly decide to more strictly enforce porting in from only postpaid carriers, and doing that wouldn't be changing the terms.
Terms have already changed many times, for example the changing end date. Sprint has changed terms even when an end date is stated like ending the Essential Phone deal earlier due to SD abuse. The situation is actually fairly foreseeable: though the current terms state you can port in additional lines "any time", after 5/17, the whole landing page goes away and you have nothing to point to.

Data point: in last week joined and ported 2 more = tolal 3 lines

1st line was with Mintsim prepaid, was most straight forward.

other 2 lines were with Google FI, that were a bit of headache:
Heard Google voice port option had some hiccups for some,
first ported both to usmobile.com (ordered SIM 3.99, got 2 sims in pack).
Then ported both to sprint after buying 3-in-1 SIM for BYOD from corporate store as online were out of SIMs for Nexus 5x and 6P
Had to put in ticket with google to engineering to disassociate phone from their database
Only then the phones became eligible for sprint.com/1yearfree, as google uses sprint they share the database.

Anyway finally 3 lines in. A fourth one, a Moto G4 Play at mintsim fails so qualify at sprint.com

Those of you porting out to tmobile and then back to sprint, how long did it take to port out to tmobile and back to sprint? I assume you had your new shiny sprint byod free year sims ready to go for the port back in, correct? With a new social of course?!

porting in two number to Tmo took maybe almost half an hour. The numbers ported almost instantaneously. I wanted to wait couple hours to make sure the changes are effective o Sprint but you don't need to wait that long. Just check the number and phone availability at the BYOD site and the call Sprint and get new account created with Sprint. That took almost an hour for two lines and credit check and validation. .I used existing Sprint SIM cards. So overall process took one and half hour for me

Can you add more lines to the account after the promotion is ended, but if you are still in the free year cycle?

When porting back into sprint, is your tmobile account number your phone number and is there any pin that you have to set up with tmobile?

Changing end date did not change the terms for existing customers. Their terms remain unchanged. When they added lines, it was under the terms and dates (including last savings date) of their original offer and plan.

People received the terms of their plan online within their account and/or by email when they subscribed and those never changed (for them). They can still be accessed within their online accounts and still apply.

I think the implication of "at any time" probably (not with 100% certainty though) means we will continue to be able to add lines, because existing users are not adding lines under the extended or non-extended versions of the plan in the first place. In my opinion they are doing so under the terms of their original offer, which was never modified for them, completely independently and without any reference to extended offers to others that may or may not be made or ended.

(If people were adding lines dependent on the periodically extended and modified offers, they would be getting the revised ends of savings dates stated in those offers, and they are not).

Nooo! My 1 free year expires in September and I was trying to hold out. And there is just my SSN to use on an account, so there is no way I can cancel and re-activate. Oh well, at least one free year was nice.

You have to come up with another SSN.

Has a bad experience. Here is what I did.

1. Yesterday around 12 PM, ported number from 1st Sprint free account (ending in August this year) to T-Mobile prepaid.
2. At 3 PM (~3 hours after ported out), trying to port back to 2nd free account under different SSN. Order placed fine but never completed. Still in pending status so far. Phone number still working with T-Mobile prepaid.
3. Made several calls yesterday and today, they all did't know why but said order looks fine, and they have system update causing delays. Now, they said maybe complete by Wednesday. Twice they transferred me to porting department and connections were dropped while waiting porting department answer.
4. So far, I can not see order on my 2nd account. Chat agent said that order is still in transitional queue.
5. One agent I talked to this morning asked me if I ported a number out then ported back. I said yes, and she transferred me to porting department but connection dropped during waiting.
6. I asked if order can be cancelled so that I can restart the process, chat agent said that they can't do it while order is in transitional queue.

Maybe the problem is that I tried to port back to the same phone and same sim card as the number ported out?

Anyone had similar issue before? What should I do now?

Call porting department only, not other departments. It is probably a routine port issue. Cancelling would just confuse things further. If you talk to other departments you might get your account noted.

You shoud use the same phone and sim and number. That is not a problem.

same question - i'm about to port 1st # to t-mo and wondering how you setup a PIN with them. Is it possible to access online account if you never add any prepaid cards/$s to the pay as you go plan?

also - anyone know if the Essential Phone is eligible for port back into sprint?

Thanks!!
